New controller install and test - Pace 500

The one downside of the new controller is the throttle is not available in PAS0. This is a problem for me because I ride a lot in PAS0 and like to have the throttle available if I find I can't make the top of a hill in PAS0.

Possible to add handlebar riser to Pace500 Step Through?

You can put an extender on the Pace 500. To remove the original steering stem you must remove the bolt that is under the stem's plastic cap, then loosen the two stem pinch bolts on the bottom of the stem. Make sure you have enough cable slack to raise the bars--this can be a limitation on how...

New Motobecane Gravel/Road Bikes with Integrated Battery and MidDrive BAFANG M800 System

Since I can climb my steepest hills at a 1:1 gear ratio on my non-electric Immortal gravel bike I should be able to do the same hills with a 48T chainring and gear ratio of 1:1.14 with 250 watts of assist. I have a lot of experience with European 250 watt Class I ebikes so I know what to expect...

New Motobecane Gravel/Road Bikes with Integrated Battery and MidDrive BAFANG M800 System

After reading some reviews of the Motobecane eMulekick pro that ease my mind about the 215 watt-hour battery I am very seriously considering pulling the trigger--I really want a eGravel bike. Here's some more info on the 1x chainring and available gear ratios. My Motobecane Immortal Disc Pro...

How to Replace Pace 500/350 Chainring, Crankset & Bottom Bracket Bearing

Thanks e, it looks like the Goat Link's length is closer to the one you're using right now compared to the shorter Road Link.

How to Replace Pace 500/350 Chainring, Crankset & Bottom Bracket Bearing

Is this the Goat Link you are recommending? There is also a shorter "Road Link" available: https://amzn.to/3n2pmiN

Did you have to go with a longer than stock chain? Do you have the details on your cassette?

    Pace 500/350 Assembly Tips

If your seat post is slipping you can clean the seat post of any grease and tighten the seat post clamp bolt that's on the opposite side of the clamping lever. You want that bolt tight enough that it's so hard to close the clamp that you can barely do it by hand.

    Pace 500/350 Assembly Tips

Hey finz, there is a small hex bolt where the brake lever meets the brake lever mount that adjusts the position of the lever--you can move it out or in closer to the handlebar. If that doesn't do it then you probably need to have the brake bled. You'll need a bleed kit with the right reservoir...

    Pace500 spokes breaking

I just wanted to add that newer Pace 500s and the Aventon Level come with thicker 12 gauge spokes in the rear so the tension specs 3 posts up do not apply to 12 gauge spokes.

How to Replace Pace 500/350 Chainring, Crankset & Bottom Bracket Bearing

Aventon says the chainring (large front chain sprocket) is a 42T (42 teeth) but mine was actually a 44T. My original chainring did not have a size stamped on it--I had to actually count the teeth. Before doing this upgrade you should verify how many teeth your chainring actually has because you...

How to Replace Pace 500/350 Chainring, Crankset & Bottom Bracket Bearing

I recently replaced the stock 44T chainring on my Pace 500 with a 48T oval chainring to raise the gearing and even out the pedal power pulse. I had to replace the crankset with an industry standard 130 BCD crankset with 70mm crank arms. While I had the crank arms off I went ahead and replaced...

New Motobecane Gravel/Road Bikes with Integrated Battery and MidDrive BAFANG M800 System

My analog gravel bike has 11x42 with 2x gearing up front and it's barely adequate so a 1x chainring & 11x42 rear isn't even close for a road bike.

New Motobecane Gravel/Road Bikes with Integrated Battery and MidDrive BAFANG M800 System

You can see from the pic the gearing range would be very limited for that 1x "gravel bike" when on pavement. I want to be able to grind up steep hills without assist when the battery goes but also need high speed gearing for downhill pavement so a 2x would be needed.

New Motobecane Gravel/Road Bikes with Integrated Battery and MidDrive BAFANG M800 System

Good catch, I was just about to pull the trigger on this when I read your post. I'll wait for a dual chainring version.

That sounds like the speed sensor then. I'm not sure where it is, it might even be in the hub motor itself.

Erfenbach, that sounds like a cadence sensor problem. It's down near the crank. Inspect it, verify it's not loose and check its connector.

How to Replace a Broken Spoke

Cool, thanks for the update AdamT. Maybe that's why there seems to have been a great reduction in broken rear spokes in the Pace 500 and Level.

Pace 500 - be careful at start, especially when also turning

I have a 500 and 350. The 500's extra battery capacity, higher top speed and fantastic hydraulic brakes make me wish we would have gone with two Pace 500's.

How to Replace a Broken Spoke

That is strange and I have never seen it done that way. I'd send Aventon an email and see if it is intentional.
