    Turbo vado 5.0 size experience

To clarify, since the 5.0 is a class 3, I assume one would get that to go faster rather than a lighter, cheaper class 1 bike. The stability just comes from the better fit. The seating position on the XL is more upright and I felt like there was too much freedom for the smaller bike to move...

    Turbo vado 5.0 size experience

This is me almost exactly (189 cm) and I agree 100% I tested both L and XL. While the L frame was easier to mount and unmount, it definitely felt less stable when biking fast which is what you get the 5.0 for.

    Checking in at 1K

Yeah I've never had a chain go longer than 2K miles on a mid-drive before exceeding >0.5% stretch. A small price to pay since that distance biked saves me $400 worth of gas. I do my best to save the chain, downshift on stops and so on, but I'm a tall heavy rider and I run Turbo level assist...

3K. I continuously marvel at how well constructed this bike is. Everything on it is a little better than it needs to be. I broke a spoke on the rear wheel and that's about it for repairs. See you on the Funway!

    Replacement Gazelle Ultimate C380+ Pedals

I couldn't resist, 40% off on Black Friday sale. The red is not an exact match but it's close enough. Hopefully your pedals make you as happy as these shiny red pedals make me.

ERGON RM Touring Mirror on Ultimate T10+

Since the Ultimate already has ERGON grips I figured the ERGON RM Touring Mirror was a natural choice. I bought it and I'm pretty happy with it but I wanted to mention one thing. In typical Gazelle fashion, the handlebars are very heavy duty and the bar has really thick walls. Because of this...

    Replacement Gazelle Ultimate C380+ Pedals

This thread is suddenly relevant for me. One of the pedals on my 13 month old (2500 miles) Ultimate T10+ wore out as well. This is notable because it's the first thing that's malfunctioned on the bike since I had it, I haven't even had a flat tire. Another odd thing is that my bike came with a...

2K. Still fun! Zero complaints about the bike so far. The stock Schwalbe tires yet to have a flat on a route that would have had about 2.5 flats by now on my previous bike. There are still some Ultimate T10+ available discounted a lot off of MSRP, I strongly urge anyone on the fence to swoop...

New , Gazelle Eclipse , Class 3 , Bosch Smart System

I think it looks great. It has pretty much every update I would have wanted including the larger battery and the newer Bosch system. The price and weight are a bummer but pretty much along the lines of what you'd expect for a similar Class 3 bike with a 750 Wh battery from Specialized or R&M...

    Checking in at 1K

I figured a little positive feedback was warranted in our sleepy neck of the woods. As a refugee from the much more lively Specialized forum I'm wondering if Gazelle owners are awash in quiet satisfaction for the most part.

1 Year Review Specialized Vado 4 (3000 miles)

Did they do a brake bleed at the service? The back break on my Vado 5.0 was pretty spongy and getting worse. Having that set bled firmed it up nicely.

    Checking in at 1K

Hey Everyone, I want to celebrate my T10+ reaching it's first milestone at 1000 miles. Purchased in September 2023, I have a long list of things I love about this bike, from its fire engine red paint job to its zippy motor that eats up my 16 mile commute in less than 50 minutes on most days...

    Not impressed with Specialized

$500 for a new motor is a good deal, that's cheaper than most repairs and you get new parts in theory. Although I'm wondering if these "new" replacements are factory referbs. Based upon what I'm seeing here, you could probably expect somewhere between 2K to 6K miles off a new motor. For the...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

The Bosch is brand spanking new so it only has 300 on it. Yeah I'm starting to think that to commute as frequently as I like, having two bikes is essential. I'm not going to make back more than a small fraction of what I've spent on this bike by selling it, really my biggest concern is the...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

So much for final update. Less than 200 miles after the repair and upgrade, the motor makes a noise and loses assist. Since the repair is under warranty I have it pulled out and ship it back to Tennessee. Turns out instead of the belt or bearings failing, it's the planetary gear. This is not...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

Hopefully the final update: I rode my bike home from the bike shop today, 106 days after the May 17th failure. After 75 days of being run around by Specialized and the LBS Specialized dealer, I rescued the bike, brought it to my normal bike shop where they removed the motor. I then shipped it...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

I agree that we don't have enough data. There's a selection bias because people only report to the forum when they have a problem. I wonder how many 10K Brose motors are out there? I wonder who has racked up the most miles on a motor without a component failure? Maybe we should start a thread...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

I have limited information, my communication with Specialized has only been through the bike shop and they have not been very easy to deal with. I assume that Specialized is not resetting warranties with a new motor, while my bike is 3.5 years old, the new motor that just broke was only 15...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

Good luck! Where things stand now is that Specialized offered to discount a new motor from $1200 to $800, I don't know if labor is included. I'm looking into having the broken motor refurbished, given I've broken two new motors in less than 6K miles I think I probably have more confidence in a...

I could smell my Vado motor about to fail

I don't think the basic design of the Brose motors has changed, they appear to still use a belt but there might be updates from the original material. I've been going down a bit of a YouTube Rabbit Hole learning about these motors. This video seems to present a comprehensive list of ways...
