    BH Dapu motor failure again

I've had my BH e-bike for six years and have had very good luck with it. BH/Easy Motion has always had the best warranties in the business, to my knowledge, but gladly I didn't need my 5-year one. BTW, my dealer was gone by the second year of my ownership, and from day one I would have gone...

    Go For $$ Or Not?

Mercedes is a premium brand because the company has been making high-quality, worthy vehicles for many years. There are no e-bike manufacturers that can say anything like that to merit a big premium. That Rad Mini was a great deal (for an e-bike) and has been good to you, right? Keep that...

Who's ebike riding could ALL be done on a regular bike?

I picked up my electric 6 years ago, simply to add a different kind of riding. I picked the bike, among others, because it fit and rode the most like a "regular" bike, actually much like my '97 RockHopper. I ride it in Eco (lightest assist) or no-assist 95% of the time. On the moderate...

    Carry Essentials

Water, true minimum, then a compact multi-tool and a tire inflator. Welcome, and enjoy your new bike.

    newbe here

Welcome from a fellow-almost-72er. Pacing ourselves is a good plan. Congratulations on surviving 30 years of crop-dusting: Best improved health, and enjoy your new bike!

    Seeking dual purpose mountain/commuter

You're saying it as if it's a bad thing... ;), though I read how busy you are. Still: Wow, Love it: that is a wonderful, strong, and rare selection, and in a beautiful location! EBR must have been there already. Salivating enviously... do enjoy your patient shopping.

Help an old fat fart find a bike!

:D She's still right about the OMG-cost of e-bikes -and I wish it was only e-bikes, BTW.

Which Ebike should I save up for?

I'd shop used. It requires patience, but $2K should be able to get you a very nice option in the SLC area. E.g.: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) Also, in that area, I wouldn't worry about, or limit my option based on, service options. That is, generally, more shops than we think will/can...

    Introducing Calamus C-Vision

Hi, and good luck! Do you have a weight spec for your beauty, please?

    Seeking dual purpose mountain/commuter

Time326, there is another option that I recommend if you'd prefer a more mountain-worthy bike. Unfortunately, there aren't any dealers in Canada, so I imagine you'd have to take a ride to Seattle, but I don't know that either. I'm referring to a German Haibike e-bike and they have several worthy...

    Seeking dual purpose mountain/commuter

You say you've looked at Trek, but I'd second Mary jo's suggestion for a Trek DS plus, and it does seem to meet your personal and legal requirements, including being able to add fenders and a rack. I have had a manual DS for 6 years, as long as I've had my electric, and I like it very much. What...

    Introducing Calamus C-Vision

I like it very much, but 8 months to March is/will be a loooong span of time in ebike history. Still, this design is elegant and on the tech edge, plus the NOW price is remarkable. I can't imagine any better or competing ideas coming out at anywhere near this ~$2K level. Great if this company...

What are some of the less expensive bikes with torque sensors?

Some would never consider it, but the best way to get more for less in bikes, etc. is to shop patiently on Craiglist or other used-market means/media, though it's more efficient in more populous areas. Patience is key anywhere, but people regularly buy bikes with the best intentions, and then...

    What is your security set-up?

I'm tempted to post a pic of the exceptional steel cable to which I entrust all my bikes, but I'm fearful that one or many of you will post 20 videos on how to cut through it in less time than typing this is taking.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

You're a lucky guy, Alaskan. Great shots! I have great memories of your state: I drove the Alaska Hwy when it was 1000 miles of gravel !o_O! and camped there for a month.

    Bike Seat

The Performance RX version is narrower: and mine pictured here looks even a little narrower -both saddle and opening- than today's pic on Amazon, where I got it, though about 6 years ago.

    Abrubt Acceleration.....

Craig, my bike is a torque pedal-assist, with throttle, and my assist is quite gradual, at any power level, and doesn't engage, in any event, until maybe a half a pedal stroke. I'd welcome a significantly greater thrust, especially in a left-turn lane ahead of traffic :), though I now have 6...

Which is easier to repair/replace: hub or mid drive motors?

BH is the manufacturer of my Easy Motion bike: been making bikes since long before any of us were born. Bing for BH bikes. ;)

    Removing throttle on easy motion

My 2013 Neo model came with ergo grips, though I don't know what "full size" may mean. We do need ergo grips, but moving your throttle is surely better than removing it. I don't use it often, but I sure wouldn't choose to do without it.

Will this be the hottest 2020 S pedelec commuter ebike ?

Maybe until the one I'm awaiting... I'm expecting, I require an even-lighter electric, with a lighter motor and battery -and the concomitant speed that will bring. Haibike has sure risen to the top quickly, though -nice, exciting advance.
