Looking for an e-bike with some unique considerations...

My Sycamore was a great value. I did, however, have to use the warranty to replace the rear wheel due to broken spokes. After using the replacement wheel/hub motor for another year, I found more broken spokes. Now that my 2 year warranty has expired, I'm having to replace the spokes on my...

    Good tubes!

I would get flats on my rear tire 3x in a row until I started using the heavier, thicker puncture resistant tubes. They're worth it.

Schwalbe 47-622 smaller than Trigger Sport 47-622 Tire

I had three blown rear tubes on a brand new ebike. Like you, I merely followed the tire rating. But for now I'm staying on the lower end of the range, and using thorn resistant tubes.

Charger gets very hot while charging. Concerned?

Mine is a Sans class 2 charger, 42V 2A, no fans. I think I will keep the fan on for now. Thanks!

Charger gets very hot while charging. Concerned?

Hi, When charging my 36V 14Ah 504Wh battery (Schwinn Sycamore), the charger gets very hot after a few hours. I started putting a fan next to the charger to keep it cooler. My question is: do I even need to do this? Has anyone ever had an issue with their charger wearing out from overheating?

I just bought a Schwinn Sycamore

I got a great deal on a Schwinn Sycamore. I was drawn to this bike for its price, power (350W) , battery size (500w), warranty (2 years electric components), front suspension, and name brand recognition. (I used to ride Schwinns as a kid). Here are my early thoughts/pet peeves: Issues: 1...

Front chainring size on higher end Trek ebikes

That's some technology! Thanks for the helpful info. As my rear hub motor makes repairing flats more frequent and complex, the idea of a mid Bosch motor sounds even more appealing. Someday...

Front chainring size on higher end Trek ebikes

Why are the front chainrings so small on these higher end Trek bikes? Doesn't it mean the motor has to work harder (faster) to attain top speeds?

    Hello from Southern California!

Indianajo, Thanks for the tips! I did have to buy a 18mm offset wrench. Also, I've decided to go with velcro ties as I don't like zip ties. My rear wheel tire had 3, yes 3, flats in the first week. Had to install puncture resistant tubes. I think there must be a sharp edge on the rim. (Was...

Hi mi name is bruce and just purchased a schwinn monroe e250...it worked when i first drove it but the motor is not working now....the led display

Also, the black cable that attaches the battery to the motor should be tight. It is detachable for when you need to change the rear wheel.

    Hello from Southern California!

Hi Everyone, I just bought a Schwinn Sycamore electric bike. I'm planning to use it for my daily commutes to work (32 miles roundtrip through city streets). I traditionally take the bike on the bus to work, then ride the second 16 miles home. I became interested in electric bikes when I...
