    CCX vs S2?

Better tires, rear rack, fenders, bigger battery, more power...I think these extras are worth the additional $400. I don't know anything about the Kenda K1088 tires on the CCS (they seem to be discontinued) but since chaging a flat is extra work on this bike, flat resistant tires shouldn't be...

    CCX or HyperFat 1100 ??

If you need speed, then the HyperFat may be the ticket, but I'm not sure what the advantage of the fat tires would be for a long, pavement based commute like yours - even in the rain. If you're really planning on riding a 60-mile round trip commute, you may need that speed when its dry but when...

Will an 8-speed chain work on the CCX 9-speed drive train?

Well, I think I'll let it ride and see what happens. There are no noticeable issues - no chain drops, no concerning noises, no shifting trouble. I know that conventional wisdom says this shouldn't be okay, but I'll just keep an eye on it and see if anything develops.

Will an 8-speed chain work on the CCX 9-speed drive train?

I recently measured my original chain and found it was time for a replacement. I miscounted the number of cogs in the rear and ordered an 8-speed chain. I put the new chain on anyway and everything seems to work well. Is there any reason I shouldn't leave the 8-speeder in place?

How do I know when my battery has reached 20% SOC?

As with most things. A little experience takes the mystery out of things and helps make good decisions. Thanks for your input, everyone!

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

You guys have me interested in changing my CCX front chain ring to something a little smaller than the stock one - I need to climb hills more than I need 30 MPH. Will I need new cranks as well or will a new chain ring fit with the old cranks? Anyone have pics of a replaced chain ring on the bike?

How do I know when my battery has reached 20% SOC?

That's an interesting point. Most of what I've read focuses on battery longevity and the standard recommendation is to keep the battery beetween 80%-20% SOC. It sounds like you add the consideration of available power to the equation and adjust the range to 100%-50%. I'm going to try running...

How do I know when my battery has reached 20% SOC?

The low voltage cutoff is user-adjustable and I've changed it several times now. I don't remember what the factory setting was. I'm trying to decide what voltage I should set as the cutoff point and I want to adjust for a 1 volt difference in the display vs multi meter reading. I haven't...

How do I know when my battery has reached 20% SOC?

According to the Juiced chart for a 52V battery, 45.4V is 20%. My question is, should I aim to stop using the battery as soon as the display shows 45.4v under load or is it okay to continue riding until the "static" reading (the reading when stopped) shows 45.4v - which would mean operating...

First ride report & Low voltage setting for CCX

Hey MJ_Sharma, did you figure out anything about the mysterious decreasing odometer readings? I'm having a similar issue and I wonder if you were able to zero in on a cause.

    Pannier bag recommendations

Besides the Rock Bros bags, can anyone recommend panniers that are known to fit on the Juiced rack (without heel strike)? Has anyone actually used Ortlieb bags on their Juiced rack? I have some old panniers that hook onto the top of the rack just fine but the retention strap is designed to...

    New CCX - Love it

How does the bike handle going up hills with your son in the trailer behind? Is there enough torque for pulling a load up hill? I have a couple short but steep hills on my commute. I haven't found a spec for the torque rating anywhere and I understand hub motors are not as good at pulling as...

    New CCX - Love it

CCXCommuter, Did you have any trouble attaching your trailer hitch? I'm seriously considering a CrossCurrent as my next commuter bike but I sometimes have a significant load to transport. Since it won't fit on the rear rack, I would like to use a trailer that attaches to the rear axle and I...
