Known Issues & Problems with Ride1Up Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

No, I have not tried that yet. I found that pushing the throttle control to the right had a bit of an impact. But maybe it could be the brakes........I will play with it.

Known Issues & Problems with Ride1Up Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Hi All, I just past 1600 miles on my 700. I do a lot of gravel riding with it and I think something in the throttle internals has come lose as my power started cutting out while on bumpier terrain. I found that if I push the throttle lever to the right (not up or down to engage the throttle)...

My 700 is not hacking it in Yuma. Going to order a Juiced Rip Current S w/4" tires

I do a lot of gravel riding though not much sand. I was not expecting much from the Super Moto tires but I have really been impressed with them on gravel. At least the gravel we have around my area :-)

Throttle ? Yes or no ?

The throttle is a nice option that I have not used very often. What I don't like is that at least on my ride 1up 700 bike it is active when you turn the bike on even though the PAS level is zero. This is unsafe and I have inadvertantantly activated the the throttle before I was on the bike a...

Got my 700 today-Shipping and unboxing comments:

Yea the throttle can bite you in a hurry. As soon as a ride ends and you put your feet on the ground try to remember to shut off the controller right away.

How are you carrying your extra battery?

I use a handlebar mounted Salsa EXP cage. Made a sleeve for the powertube out of old backpacking pad and then secure it with two viole straps. Works awesome even on rough trail rides. https://salsacycles.com/components/category/bags_frame_packs/exp_series_anything_cradle

How does the 1up USA bike rack work w/ RCS fenders?

Not sure what your fenders look like but the 1up bar that clamps the tires can be raised and lowered on the support beams using the predrilled holes to avoid touching fenders.

Question about range on the 700 with pedaling

Did a 32+ mile / 1900ft elevation gain ride yesterday starting with a 100% charged battery and in PAS 3 the entire time. Dropped to 90% level right at 29 miles. Though I am pretty sure 90% on the display really equates to something like 50% or less actual charge in the battery. I had a...

Question about range on the 700 with pedaling

I am betting you should be fine w battery on your round trip. Worst case you could remove the battery at work and recharge there.

    This doesn’t seem possible

I am pretty positive the battery bars are not equal and don't really show the % of charge in your battery. The first bar always lasts a long distance for me with each bar after that going in shorter and shorter distances. I think this is indicated by the width of the bar in the display.

Question about range on the 700 with pedaling

I ride primarily in level 3 PAS and ride in hilly areas. I usually get over 30 miles before I lose my first bar of battery capacity. I don't think the bars are the same though as once you break to the 90% level each following bar goes quicker than the previous one. I have been very...

    Options for carrying spare battery?

Hello, I am the guy using the salsa exp handlebar cage on my trek powerfly I can attest it works great over multiple rides.......gravel and trail. I don't notice it at all. If your battery is more than 8 pounds though that will exceed the manufacture recommended weight limit.

Future Bike Model Proposal: Roadster 800

That would be cool. I see very little value to suspension fork on an urban bike. Just more weight and one more thing to break / wear out. I keep the susp fork on my 700 on lockout most of the time anyway as I like to stand a lot on climbs and hate the bobbing sensation of suspension forks...

    Noise coming from crank

I pulled my crank arms and greased the tapered bb ends and while I had the crank arms off tightened the chain ring bolts.............those steps really quieted things down for me.
