    Crank Squeal

Just noticed a high pitched squeal coming from what appears to be motor with every crank cycle. 2019 Explorer E+2

    When to Charge the battery

That was basically my question. Does one do any harm to the battery when you do that, charge after every trip.

    When to Charge the battery

Thx Harry. Yes that is the battery. Yes I feel encouraged. At 84 I dont need a lot of years to go onthe battery. My own personal battery is probably in more jeopardy than the bike. LOL

    When to Charge the battery

Lots of opinions when to charge after trip. My tech told me that you should charge no more often than about every third trip if you are averaging 25 kms/trip. My prob is that I live in fear of being stranded with a dead battery and having to pedal the monster home. Tech says charging too...

    Drain Battery Every 3 months:

I gave this up after running out of juice far from home. Now I am charging battery after each trip. I am hearing that conditioning the battery on a regular basis by running it down to almost zero and re charging is a bit of a myth? Does it make a difference to battery life?

Auto Updates on Explorer E +2:

Thx Mac. That confirms what my tech said, but it still gives me a concern that Giant is pumping out updates that might actually derogotarily impact on the bike performance. What's that all about.

Auto Updates on Explorer E +2:

Just cranked over 8000 kms and the little wrench showed up on my display and a message telling me my bike needs attn. Contacted dealer. I was told the updates can make the bike not run quite as well. I was further told to ignore the wrench and keep riding. If I have a prob with the bike...

Giant Road E+ review and questions

Ditto on satisfaction with E+2 Explorer. 8000 kms and enjoying it more every time out. With respect to second sprocket up front, of no value UNTIL you run out of juice. As mentioned, this is one heavy bitch of a bike when not under E power. However having the smaller sprocket up front really...

    Giant Battery Fires

With all the controversy raging, hard to find out if Giant Explorer +2 Batteries are an issue. Is it a fact that poorly maintained batteries and batteries from cheaper ebikes are the main problem. I am also curious to determine if it is still valid to run your battery down to "0" every three...

    Explorer +2 tail lite issues

Almost 3 years have passed since acquiring Explorer E+2. Still no resolve for tail lite. Dealer says design flaw in wiring of lite and it prevails even on the new models. Moisture steadily erodes contacts in the rear inside fender. Bummer on an otherwise almost flawless product. It is...

    New Chain & Cassette

Well, thank you for that, Stephan. No the techs never mentioned this. In fact I was told outright that the cassette comes as a single unit and the gears cannot be replaced separately. Somehow I am going to get this thread directly to them. I know I have harped on this before, but I just...

    New Chain & Cassette

Well here it is, 5500 kms and I just installed my 3rd casssette and chain. I am told the small (high) gear had worn out.....again. I admit I love the "Normal" mode and use it 90% of the time, but I try to shift down as often as I can. I was "schooled" today by my tech. I urged me to move to...

    Explorer +2 tail lite issues

Thanks, well after 5000 kms, I consider it my "zen" bike. It has given me hours of pure pleasure with little or no probs. For a new product, I was a bit surprised, but Giant must have done their due diligence prior to putting on the market. I was tempted prior to purchase to buy one of the...

    Explorer +2 tail lite issues

Anybody experienced tail lite malfunction on Explorer +2? Mine quit working due to a faulty connection at bottom of rear fender. Shop has had difficulty obtaining repair parts from Giant. Apparently requires a completely new wiring harness as the connection at bottom front of rear fender is...

    Rubber Charger cover replacement -

Has anyone had to replace this cover? My dealer got me one but installing is a mystery. It looks like you just force the table into the former crevice that the old one sat in, but I will be damned how it goes in. I do not want to force it. Any help appreciated. Techs not avaiable at the moment.

    New Chain & Cassette

Bob, we learn as we earn. If I had been aware to check chain wear earlier, I probably would have saved my self the cost of getting a new cassette. I will now have the chain examined after about 2000 kms.
