    CCX 500 Mile update

Thanks for the "what to expect", I'll definitely check out the tires you suggest. Brake pads are likely to go at around 1500 miles, as they were on the pedal powered bike this replaced - I just counted the traffic signals on the route (via openmaps) and counted just over 40 traffic lights, with...

    CCX 500 Mile update

Back in February I bought a CCX for my 29 mile, each way, commute. Life has been busy and I've been spending some time on my human powered bikes, so it's taken me longer than planned to reach the 500 mile mark. Overall, I've been happy with my purchase. Mechanical/ build comments: *Front...

CCX Arriving Friday! Any preventative maintenance/ QC checks I should do at unboxing?

Completed my first commute this morning. 1:40 door to door, including a detour that took me an extra ~10 minutes due to terrible signage and unfamiliarity with that particular part of town. Driving this same route takes 1:15, so I'm happy with the time it took. (Freeway takes 40 minutes to 1:15...

CCX Arriving Friday! Any preventative maintenance/ QC checks I should do at unboxing?

Reflector you’re referring to is white? I think that’s intended for the front, but I binned mine. (Or rather, it sits unused in the bag). If it’s red, it’s for the rear. You’ll want to use a socket for the front fender, and it’s a pain in the butt to install. I’m impressed with the bike so far...

The button turns the battery power itself, on/off. To start riding, you press the button on the battery, then turn the controller on. Power down in reverse. I’ve been turning off via the battery button, not sure if that has a chance to bugger things up or not.

Showed a damaged battery iirc. Battery definitely fits tight on mine, but I don’t plan to remove it often.

Yup. Looks similar (probably the same).

Front fender is garbage and I have a bit of range anxiety after my 32 mile range test ride (assist was way lower at the end) but she did pretty well all told. Accidentally grabbed a bunch of KOMs (Strava) when it didn’t update to an Ebike ride. Fixed that, as I personally know many of the...

I will! It’ll be about 2 weeks before my first commute (doctors orders, got snipped) but that gives me some time to get things set up. Got a killer deal on red ortleib panniers and Cycliq front and rear cameras/ lights. Mirracycle, too. Also picked up a brooks cambium, not a huge fan of the...

I poorly phrased the battery comment - It's easy to get out, but a pain to get in. Might be a learning curve thing, but I had to get the bottom aligned properly and then give a solid thwack to get it seated up top. I know some of the original CCX's had connection issues, so this may be part of...

Got her put together last night and went for a spin (it was wet - it'd stopped raining but the roads were still quite damp, late, and I'd had a few drinks so didn't go far - maybe a 2 mile loop). Holy crap, what a rush! I didn't play with each assist mode that much, but level 2 seemed like a...

Gotcha. Got an answer from juiced confirming 3 pin. FedEx is being... FedEx.... so what was going to be a Friday delivery turned into a Monday delivery. Can’t wait!

CCX Arriving Friday! Any preventative maintenance/ QC checks I should do at unboxing?

Wow. I’d be upset about both of those. Here’s hoping Juiced takes care of him. Based on feedback here and elsewhere, it seems they should.

Exactly. While I can pedal power the road bike to a bit over 30, I start seeing stars if I hold it for too long... and I’m drenched in sweat. There are a few roads that I avoided because I felt like I was holding up traffic too much/ didn’t feel all that safe on at pedal cycle speeds (I do...

CCX Arriving Friday! Any preventative maintenance/ QC checks I should do at unboxing?

Thanks! I’d planned on doing all of that, but I appreciate you pointing me to the reference. I most definitely plan on unlocking R mode (depending on actual watts pulled and how much battery is left at the end of my usual ride, I can see it being useful in a few short sections of road... legal...

CCX Arriving Friday! Any preventative maintenance/ QC checks I should do at unboxing?

Hey y'all, excited to have a CCX coming Friday. Seasoned cyclist/ bike commuter, I'll be doing a 30 mile each way commute - sometimes I'll hop on the train if I'm in a hurry, the weather sucks, or I feel like slacking off. I took a break from bike commuting due to the time commitment and life...

Class 3 commuter, 30 miles, fairly flat

And she’s shipped! Pre-drove my old route home, and there’s a marked amount of construction that’d suck to ride through on the southern half (both on the “fast” route and on the “calm” but slower route), so I’ll have to find a couple detours around those roads. Also ordered a cycle satiator...

Class 3 commuter, 30 miles, fairly flat

I’ve got the full kit of bright cygolights for front and rear - I’m akin to a Christmas tree rolling down the road in traffic or in the dark. Pedals will definitely be swapped out, not sure if I’ll clip in or run platforms. I’ll see if the panniers I have fit without heel strike. If not, I’ve...

Yeah, building to near that spec brought me to ~1800 and affirm had a 0% for 6 months deal. Customer reviews seem overwhelmingly positive save a select few. I HAVE to get back to bike commuting, and buying this eliminates an excuse. Cost of ownership seems a little higher than the car (I drive...
