Colorado’s E-Bike Rebate Program Is So Popular That It Had To Be Suspended

    UL Certified Ebikes

How do we handle replacing batteries? Are we limited to buying from dealer, if they're still in business? Can a rebuilder get any sort of certification, if they have exp, use industry-standard materials, etc? There is a rebuilder in Denver meets that definition, does rebuilds cheaper than...

Lbs refuses service due to insurance?

Purchased from a dealer. I don't drive, have no convenient way to deliver it 20 miles to my dealer's service center.

Lbs refuses service due to insurance?

Did decide to go with a mobile service, but it was still a compromise because they, understandably, have minimum charges that exceed cost of a flat repair. As to the advice that I do more maintenance I suggest that, at 80 and recently out of 2-wk hospital stay I'm pretty well able to judge my...

Lbs refuses service due to insurance?

I moved in May, wanted to find a new lbs because my seller became far away. Only 2 nearby, and both have refused to work on my Magnum Metro. Both cited their insurance. One said it was due to non-UL battery, the other because my bike had a throttle. In both cases I was inquiring about mechanical...

Aventon Level 2 and loafing along

I know I can go to higher pas and ghost or just throttle but don’t want to kill range, that’s why the pas 1 on metro worked well for me.

Aventon Level 2 and loafing along

My 2018 Magnum Metro needs a new battery after 8k miles and it has developed a tic in crank area on cold start, so I started looking for a new bike. Fell in love with the Aventon Level 2, with one caveat - the torque sensor. I’m 79, have COPD and arthritis in both knees/wrist and learned to...

Replacing valve core on a slimed tire

After a series of flats 2 years ago I slimed my tubes, no flats since. However, the valve has gotten clogged and tire pressure has dropped. I ordered a core removal tool from Amazon, be here today. My question - am I going to get Slime everywhere when I remove the core to clean? Is there a...

Ergon GP3, or The Ultimate Bike Grip (Hand Position Tutorial)

In a recent fall I was still trying to get the bike out of a skid when weight took it down, my hands were still on grips all the way down, a few digs on back of hands but not the huge road rash that is common when you go down hands first - the normal reaction.

Get a good helmet, and wear it.

Riding a path I take 3-5x/wk, morning after overnight rains; descending decreasing radius blind right-hand turn that I always slow way down for had debris washed onto path just past the apex. Started to skid, almost caught it when weight of e-bike - 60 lbs - took me down. Major road rash, 3...

    Amego Infinite Long Term Review

Good to hear. I bought the Magnum Metro (basically the same bike) and have had similar satisfaction. 2 yrs, 5200 miles, 2 flats, replaced both tires with Panaracer Comet Hard Pack for better traction on gravel, added a Thudbuster seat post. Solid, sturdy, dependable and fun to ride.

Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Second Covid shot yesterday, some soreness at injection site but no other probs, so took a cruise thru Cherry Creek State Park today. Spring is just a bit more than a rumor in Denver, saw my first crocus yesterday and the grasses are getting that hazy green look, a string of 60 degree days...

eBikes USA - Denver Area Ebike Shop Tour, SONDORS LX First Look

Would be interesting to hear Houshmand talk about opening this biz during a pandemic. He bought out another eBike biz, changed location and brand mix, more emphasis on service. Would love to know his thinking behind all this.

eBikes USA - Denver Area Ebike Shop Tour, SONDORS LX First Look

I bought my Magnum Metro two years ago from the store Houshmand bought out and moved. In 5200 miles of 80% paved trails, 20% gravel I've had two flats - both sidewall on the original Schwalbe Big Bens - lost a small bolt holding rear fender to frame, needed new chain and the freewheel went out...

First Trip To The Grocery Store

Love my Wald baskets, use a bungee net from Amazon to go over the top when I really have a load. They sell them in different sizes, think mine is 15".

    Freewheel problem

Problem actually showed up after a very thorough clean, new chain and lube, as if the dirt kept it working.

    Freewheel problem

Freewheel shot, needs "special tool" to replace. Local Magnum dlr says they have tool but freewheel (8 Spd) is not in stock, taking a week to replace.

    Freewheel problem

Freewheel on my 2yr old 5200 mi Metro is not engaging when pressure is off/slacks on pedals, pedals spin for a rotation or two, I'm worried about my feet slipping off pedals and striking ground, not recommended for 77 yr. olds. Anyone else run into this? I've emailed Magnum, waiting on reply.

    Boomer and balance

I bought a Magnum Metro and had similar problems turning when I first started riding it after not riding for years due to arthritic. knees. Took me about a month of riding 5x/wk to get enough skills built up and learn how to handle it comfortably, mostly because it has such a high speed in PAS 1...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Why I love my sunrise cruises to/thru Cherry Creek State Park. Beat the heat. Denver's high altitude sun gets intense quickly. Beat the crowds. I see way more rabbits than people in the morning, and prairie dog chirps and birdsong are my accompaniment. Options. Inside the park there is a maze...
