    Tandem E-Bike

I like the Hase Pino. I actually drove five hours to the nearest Hase dealer to check it out. I ultimately did not buy it but that isn’t the bike’s fault. I have MS and was hoping I could be stoker on this bike, but I can’t pick my feet up that high without a huge effort. It rode great and...

Modifying my Rad Trike for my particular physical limitations

I briefly had five at once, but I decided I would rather spend more time riding and less time managing the stable, so from then on I limited myself to three.

Modifying my Rad Trike for my particular physical limitations

No airheads. I never had one either, the only BMW I ever had was a K75 with a Hannigan sidecar. I also had a Ural sidecar, and the bike in my user pic is a Super Tenere with a DMC sidecar. Before the sidecars I had a lot of V4 Hondas, a Yamaha TDM, a V-Strom, and a bunch of others. My...

Modifying my Rad Trike for my particular physical limitations

Among other motorcycles, yes. My husband and I met through motorcycling. I can’t ride them anymore but in the past I had as many as five at once, and I used to do all kinds of mods for them. Now I just have a collection of electric trikes, mobility scooters, and power chairs, and I mod those...

    Rad Trike vs Liberty Trike

As long as they aren’t teeth breaking it’s good enough for me.

    Rad Trike vs Liberty Trike

I am talking about tuning for mechanical smoothness. I am enough of a mechanic that gritty bottom brackets and loose steering head bearing, grate on my nerves. For roadfeel, well, neither of them have suspension, the bumps in the road remain bumpy. You could try a suspension seatpost such as...

    Rad Trike vs Liberty Trike

I have owned the Liberty Trike for several years now and it has served me well. This year I added a Rad Trike to my garage. There are so many similarities that I decided to write a comparo. Both trikes have a front disk brake and a rear coaster brake. Both have front hub motors. Both are...

Modifying my Rad Trike for my particular physical limitations

Just wanted to share what I have done to my Rad Trike, to make it work better with my physical limitations. I have MS, and at this point in the disease’s course, I have a lot of trouble with my feet and legs. I can walk with a cane, albeit slowly. My left foot is hard to pick up, and it’s...

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

For what it’s worth I have been riding my repaired trike a lot over the last several days and I love it! It is very smooth and quiet, no creaks or rattles, very stable and comfortable. Now that we fixed the issues it came with, the quality seems terrific. I think they did a great job with the...

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

Here is a video of one of the bent axles:

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

We got the axle pretty close with our careful levering. Close enough that it is probably within normal tolerance. Glad to hear that you don’t think we damaged anything, rich c! Anyone know which side the axle comes out? Or how to determine this?

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

Ok, I guess I will tell my tech story here as well. I changed the thread title. 😀 There were two issues. Both issues appeared on both trikes. 1. The long chain was so tight it could barely move, even with the chain tensioners all the way lo the loose end. And with it adjusted that way...

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

I found threads on Reddit that Rad has laid off most of their customer service people. ☹️

Rad corporate shakeup, defective trike repairs

So I have been going back and forth with Rad for a couple of weeks. They’ve been very responsive. They sent a replacement right away. Unfortunately the second one had the same problems. They were willing to send a third, but I said let’s troubleshoot a bit first. (I will make another thread...

Second trike arrived today. It has the same bent axle and tight chain as the first trike, only worse. Back to Rad support…

    Rad Power Bikes RadTrike Reviews

Rad has written back to me. They want to just replace it. My husband is not happy. Putting it back in the shipping box is going to be like putting together a difficult puzzle, and since he is the able bodied one, this falls on him. ☹️

    Rad Power Bikes RadTrike Reviews

My Rad Trike was delivered yesterday. I am currently not happy. The axle for the driven wheel is horribly bent, which make the wheel wobble. We put a digital runout gauge on the hub and it’s out of round by about 60 thou. At the tire, this becomes a good quarter inch. The box was undamaged...

Current etrike offerings and buying tips

Tomjasz, what is your fascination with that Day6 trike? You post it over and over, I have seen that photo a lot. I checked it out but it’s unobtanium. They don’t have any, and they are vague on when they might make more. I try not to get too emotionally invested in unavailable products. My...

Current etrike offerings and buying tips

The Liberty Trike would fit on one of those hitch mount trays that people put mobility scooters on. None of the others I have tried, would. I bet even the Rad will be too wide.
