    The Experience of a Bicycle

I'm feeling like a dinosaur. I like an ebike that feels like a bicycle. It is responsive, fairly lightweight, and I must pedal. The motor is there because we have hills and I don't like get off my bike to push. It is comfortable to ride for miles and miles. I'm not interested in speed, I'm...

    Saw A First For Here

This is a rural cowboy/ranching/farming area. Diesel pickups rule. So, I was surprised this morning to see for the first time, a man go by on an ebike and then a woman with a small child riding on the back of the bike. Both were on Rads and I think they were the new ones that are made so a...

    Just What We Need

Another Washington State Survey--Ebikes On Trails

Here's a link to a survey being done by the Washington State DNR on trail use by Ebikes. The link is to a hiking site where you will find the survey link because I couldn't get the survey directly linked due to having taken the survey. Guess they are still taking input on what to do about...

    Rained On Big Time

My 2017 Radmini was riding in the uncovered bed of my pickup, and was naked as a jaybird when I drove through a carwash style frog strangling rain storm. It was heavy enough to cause flash flooding. I even had to pull off the road and wait a while for it to end. Unloaded the bike this...

    The Electric Highway Includes Ebikes

Just got this via facebook. I wonder if there will be lots of competition for the plug ins? I can't see myself riding on the interstate either. It would be good to have them on some of their lesser used (by cars) biking highways instead but, it's a start. Oregon adds plug ins.

    Warshington State People!

"They" are going to discuss ebikes on state lands. Here is a link to an on line meeting coming up and a survey. Hope "they" don't mess things up with more restrictions...

The Gazelle Arroyo Is Back and being marketed to old people

I guess I have an old fart bike but I are one so it is OK. They quit selling Arroyos in the USA at least, right after I got mine. Now it is back. I still like mine. I didn't like the chain cover/guard. The part that has to come off in order to clean and lube the chain broke on mine so I had...

    Hydraulic Brake Troubles

I rode my Gazelle to the grocery store. It was fine, all systems worked. Oh, the temperature was about 26 degrees F. I don't think I've ever ridden it in the cold. Anyway, came out and started home and I hardly had any rear brakes. I had to squeeze hard and they just weren't grabbing well...

Car Free During Winter GCN Video

    USDA Forest Service Wants Comments

I just saw this. The Forest Service, which is a whole different agency than the Park Service--Forest Service is under Dept. of Agriculture, Park Service is Dept. of the Interior, is considering changing their rules on ebikes and is soliciting comments. Here is the link. At this time, the...

    Those Sleeve Things

About 2 months ago I ordered a pair of those sleeve things that protect your arms from the sun. They were cheap ones and I was skeptical and wondering why not wear a long sleeved shirt. Today I finally gave them a try and found out what the difference is. Arms are covered but there is...

    The Terrible Awful Chainguard

Today I decided to tackle the job of cleaning and lubing the chain on my Gazelle Arroyo. I'd been studying it for a while. There is a plastic chainguard that covers the entire chain. This is supposed to protect you and the chain and keep both cleaner. But it took a while for me to figure out...

    Blood Thinners and Biking

A friend of mine had a heart malfunction. She was put on blood thinners after a clot occurred. She is now thinking she can't go bike riding. Is anybody on here taking blood thinner medication? How do you handle the risk of bruises and such? You can pm me if you wish. I'd like to be...

    Lots of Misinformation Being Used

This from a hiking forum where folks do not want to share bike trails with ebikes for various reasons of what "might" happen. I find it amazing that we ride up steep hills at 35mph. This is an example of folks wanting to influence policy who have no inkling on the topic. They google bits and...

    Lubing the Chain

They use WD40???? I thought that was a no no. I was looking for an explanation on how to get access to the chain on my Arroyo so I could clean and lube it.

    Home Made Bike Rack

My first time working with PVC and glue. I tried it out today--drove across town and back, and it did not fall apart and works! Amazing, for me. I use a motorcycle ramp to roll the bike in and out on. Only 3 trips to the hardware store were made during the construction phase.
