What size chain for Specialized Turbo Creo

Thanks! I like the tip to use a chopstick. If you are removing the chain to to this, I would add - latex gloves to keep the fingers from getting greasy!

What size chain for Specialized Turbo Creo

I guess. I thought there would be a spec out there somewhere. My eyes cross every time I try to count. Wait - did I just count that link... ;-)

What size chain for Specialized Turbo Creo

That sounds simpler than it is, but yes, it might come to that. If I go that route, I'll post.

What size chain for Specialized Turbo Creo

What size chain (how many links) do I need to replace my existing chain on my Specialized Turbo Creo? Thanks for your advice!

    Loose Cassette Cogs

Yes, I think so. That would be me! :) Thanks for your advice!

    Loose Cassette Cogs

I just noticed this again at 2200 miles, 300 miles after I originally posted this. Is the cassette defective? Now I'm feeling bad for blaming the LBS. If the cassette is defective, then this is Specialized's fault. Any recourse? Or should I just replace the cassette and move on?

    Steering Tube Wobble

Unfortunately, I did not receive that tool in my kit. Thanks for that link! I saw that as part of a set but I did not want to pay $44 for the entire set. I just ordered the single tool for $8. Thanks!

    Steering Tube Wobble

Thanks! Anyone know where I can get that thin 3mm spanner? I've been googling around for it, but I can't seem to find it.

    Steering Tube Wobble

Yes, that's exactly how it feels now. Thanks for confirming!

Can someone explain to me e-bike maintenance

Yes!! I've several times found myself caught short, scrambling to get charged up before a long ride. And stuffing an extra (partially charged) extender into my pack because I didn't have enough charge in main-plus-one. The compromise may be to keep the extenders topped up at 100% but charge the...

    Steering Tube Wobble

Hey jabberwocky, thanks for your reply. Is it the same with a FutureShock? My understanding is that the top cap on a FutureShock is purely cosmetic, it exerts no compression at all. The compression is lower down, under the boot there. I watched this one, but I don't completely understand it...

    Steering Tube Wobble

Can you give me a hand with this adjustment to my Creo Turbo? I noticed some play had crept in to my steering tube. Not major, but when clamping the front brake and applying forward force to the frame, I could see and feel a definite wobble. Maybe only a millimeter or two but definitely...

    Port Hole into Motor Housing

I notice you still have that plastic "frisbee" behind your cassette. One thing I give kudos to my LBS, he snipped that off for me. I hate the way that thing scrapes and eventually I cut them off after a while of putting up with them. What's it for, in the first place?

    Port Hole into Motor Housing

Specialized replied that it's for the rear fender and no problem, I can fill it with a bolt or tape it over. Done.

    Loose Cassette Cogs

Yeah, it's reprehensible. A 6K+ bicycle (not to mention another 1K+ in extender batteries and accessories) should be in tip-top shape before delivered to the customer. Next time I will get the bike home, take it through my own 21 point checklist and if anything is wrong it's going right back to...

    Port Hole into Motor Housing

It's a much smaller hole, but yes, I guess there's a smaller rubber plug to fit. BTW, I've long since pulled those plugs - actually one fell out, lost, and I pulled the remaining one - and replaced them with two strips of electrical tape wrapped around the chain stay. Electrical tape - it's duct...

    Loose Cassette Cogs

I'm not sure I understood your original reply. Did my LBS install this cassette or did it come preinstalled when they received the bike boxed from Specialized?

    Port Hole into Motor Housing

Good idea! It may be for a mount but I was able to insert a toothpick in to the depth of half of one "standard American toothpick" :-) That's 1.5", much deeper than a mounting bolt would be. I did bump into some sort of housing, possibly the motor case itself, and I was able to wiggle the...

    Loose Cassette Cogs

That is disheartening. I bought this from an authorized Specialized dealer. All right, I'll know for next time. If you want something done right you have to do it (or verify it) yourself!

    Port Hole into Motor Housing

Anyone know what this port hole into the motor housing (i.e. bottom bracket) is for? See photos. Is there any opportunity for road salt to get into the motor via this hole? Is there any benefit to sealing this up with some electric tape? Or must this remain open for its intended purpose...
