A2B battery chargers (Alva +/Shima). Where to get replacement?

I don't know what, if any, data protocol your A2B bike uses, however I've got this feeling that they do NOT actually implement it for control purposes. They might use it for diagnostics, but in terms of charging and powering the bike, I suspect that if you've got the 36v present, then the the...

A2B battery chargers (Alva +/Shima). Where to get replacement?

The main charger body type has been used on a number of other bikes (by other manufacturers as well, e.g. Stromer), however your bike uses a Rosenberger connector. Again, a number of other manufacturers (usually high end!) ones, also use the same connector, however it is indeed tricky to find an...

A2B battery chargers (Alva +/Shima). Where to get replacement?

Why exactly is your charger 'no good anymore' ? Was it working previously, and the battery upgrade (was this getting it re-celled?) now somehow doesn't work with the old/original charger? Or was the charger faulty to start with?

High Mileage - How do you do it?

The first obvious thing is - ride with the assist off! Ok, seemingly dumb answer, however ..... I've also seen threads where people claim seemingly ridiculously high mileage as well. Often, when pressed to describe their riding style, you discover that many of them do stuff like ride for a large...

Cold weather - almost didn't make it back!

Awesome. Thanks for clarifying that. Saves me being too anal and needing to bump up the battery charge just a little if I know I'm going to fully charge it in a few days anyway before my next ride. Cheers!

Cold weather - almost didn't make it back!

Hi Ravi. I'm glad you answered :-) Because I've been meaning to ask this question, and it would be great to also have a complex answer to help me understand something :):) So I believe that the problem is: Electrolyte oxidation products build up on the negative electrode. The more buildup, the...

Cold weather - almost didn't make it back!

Is this correct? I know you shouldn't let a battery stand for an extended period at a low voltage as it will slowly self discharge and going tooooo low is bad. But if a battery has discharged down to say 5-10% , is leaving it in this condition (say for a week before you charge and use it again)...

New KIOX display and Fast charger for 2019

Ok, thanks for that info. It would be great to know exactly how Bosch do it, but I imagine they're keeping that to themselves :-) It seems that people are getting more educated about the science behind batteries and what you should do to prolong their life (and with people like yourself doing...

New KIOX display and Fast charger for 2019

Hi Ravi, So to do this, do you just use a standard charger on a timer? Also - do you happen to know how the cell balancing is implemented on the bosch (or yamaha) battery packs, and would charging to 90% give any issues? (or does a full charge every now and again sort that out?)
