That A40 model was called the Devon. I don't think it came out with that pickup rear. It was gut-less and very quickly got up to valve-bounce. We have a set of steps with the groove to wheel your bike up. However the idiot who designed it put the groove at the right hand end of the steps...

Which E Bike Carrier Should I Consider?

I've had the Thule easyfold for a number of years now with no problems. The rack sits on a bracket right next to the rear of the car and at the same height. Slide it off the bracket, turn around, and put it on the towball. no lifting. I have traveled miles with just the rack (no bikes) no...

ooh new garmin radar with a camera now.

I'd be more interested if, when the device detected something approaching from the rear, it switched on a series of bright red flashing lights.

Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

I don't usually have time to stop and take photos and I didn't on this ride which we did in February. But someone else did. The weather was the same, cloudless sky, warm. The first half shows going to the dam, the second half back to Sailors cut. This is just one part of the Alps 2 Ocean trail...

    E bike platform Hitch hauler.

I have had the Easy Fold for about 5 years. wouldn't use anything else. To load the bike, position the bike alongside and parallel to the carrier, use the left hand to lock up the rear brake, pulling backwards lift up the front wheel and swing it over onto the carrier. Right hand lock up the...

    Tickets when using bike rack

I run a Thule easy fold (not cheap) which can only carry two bikes. It has built in provision for stop light, turn indicators and tail lights. It also has provision for lighting of a rear number plate. Most cops don't worry too much but there are one or two who seam to make it their mission to...

Ebike Sightings | What are you seeing?

About 4 years ago I was leading a group of walkers when I heard of a cycling leadership course being offered. I signed up having not ridden a cycle in 6o years. After the course the sporting organisation nominated a time and place for a group to meet and ride. Three leaders and 8 people turned...

Using Ebikes As Tools For Meeting a Health Challenge

Excercise is the key. I have 2 comments that I live by. "I'm a survivor" and "Don't let the bastards get me" At 83 and with 30 years of type 2 diabetes I'm riding 2 days a week and walking 2 days a week and I attribute the excercise with keeping me fit and healthy.. With your excercise...

How can I carry an extra battery that is 15.6 in. Long?

How about a 20inch piece of suitable diameter PVC pipe. Do away with the basket, secure the pipe to the rack, blank off the front end, screw end on the back. Maybe some soft padding inside. Rattle can a nice mat black paint, the screw on cap painted red flames and you can tell everyone your...

    Average age of EBR riders

I'll chime in and raise the average. I'm 83 and run a local cycling group. There are 60 to 80 riders turn up every Wednesday to ride (its winter here now) and there is one woman at 84, two of us at 83, one 82, and one at 81. A lot in the 70s (we are not a rest home group) I don't know of anyone...
