    Himiway Cruiser power bar settings.

After only having become a recent Himiway Cruiser I have a question. I have only completed a few rides and have charged the battery after each ride. That was until a couple of days ago, when I headed out for an 18 mile ride with three bars of power remaining on the console. 5 miles from home...

    Hemiway owners in the UK

Hi guys, been a long time since I was last on here, but thought that I would pop in and show the new bike. A Hemiway Cruiser. Certainly not an uncommon bike in the US, but there aren't so many here in the UK. I bought it for my wild camping exploits, and just to ride something different. Here...

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Hi Phill, really sorry to hear that you have already required a new motor. Lets hope that you have better success with the next one. Removing the chain guard is a very sensible idea, and I also had thought about going to narrow section tyres for winter use, but in my case, the Nobby Nic rear...

What brand eMTB offer Electronic Shifting on Bosch CX?

Hi Bob. From a quick look at the Orange UK website, it appears that there are now three models available for 2018. They aren't my kind of bike, but those that own them, can't speak highly enough of them. :)

    Best dual-suspension trail bike...

Hi Bob, I am afraid that it was just something that I spotted on Instagram a while back, and have no further details. As far as I was aware, Santa Cruz have always ben anti ebikes, but I guess that it might be a case of embrace it, or fall behind and loose out.

    I prefer the Santa Cruz.

    Best dual-suspension trail bike...

Don't you mean Pivot Shuttle, not Pilot Shuttle? I hate the battery position of the Pivot, and removing it to change batteries mid ride when everything is covered in mud and crud, would quickly become a complete nightmare. Personally, I wouldn't want any bike that utilizes a front loading...

What brand eMTB offer Electronic Shifting on Bosch CX?

I'm in 100% agreement with everything that you have said there. I took an Orange Alpine 6 out today for a quick spin, and the Di2 left me wondering what both the point of it was, and why is there all the fuss being made about it. The only aspect that appealed was the lack of cockpit clutter...

    eMTB off road photo thread.

Hi Ann, the fully enclosed cover as on the black FS bike, are actually surprisingly good at keeping the mess out. If maintenance was neglected, you could gradually get a build of mud inside, but the electrics have never once had mud or water on them. The motor on the white hardtail is far more...

Road bikes with lightweight electric systems

Orbea Gain. They also do flat bar versions. edit.. Sorry, I didn't spot that you had already mentioned Orbea. The best looking road bike out there.

    Off Road

That looks almost identical to my own local riding terrain. I love nothing better than just going out, following non existent tracks and trails. It also teaches you so much about balance, control and observation. Keep it up. :)

    EMTB Mode is here

It would have made much more sense, so I have no idea why they didn't either position the mode in place of Turbo, or just a add another setting altogether. My new bike has it and I hate it. I shall be getting it removed at the first available opportunity.

    obsolete

One of my bikes has an 11-42 and one an 11-48. It is the 11-42 that isn't enough for climbing in the Alps, and all of the local riders use 13t with an 11-48 or in some cases an 11-50 That is some pretty extreme gearing for climbing, but it certainly makes it effortless.

    obsolete

For UK use, I use a 16T on the CX motor, link to either a 10/42 or 11/48 rear, depending upon bike. In the Alps I struggled this year using a 15t on the CX, against another rider using a 13t. I was very out of breath and struggling, whilst the other guy wasn't. We swapped bikes, and he was out...

    2017 KTM Fogo

No problem at all, I'm more than happy that the thread has provoked interest and comment. Please continue. :) With reference to applying the rim tape, I found that the best way, or at least for me, was to suspend the bike with the wheel in place, then slowly turn the wheel applying the tape as...

    2017 KTM Fogo

Hi Ann, I have to say that in nearly four years of running a tubeless set up, I have yet to experience a single flat tyre. I have had many occasions where thorns or even flint have punctured or pierced the tyre, but on each occasion the sealant has filled the holes. I do carry a tubeless...
