CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

I can see where they're coming from if it was technically under warranty since a customer could potentially cause further unknown damage by opening the battery. The fact that they offering warranty service beyond their terms does make me wonder if they know this is an issue. They are offerring...

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

Well I was able to swap parts from the small format CC battery & the wide format CCX battery & the bike is working again. The CC battery connector was slightly different in look & wire gauge to the CCX one, but fits ok. I just spliced the wires on the frame side & then spliced them as close to...

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

I'll probably buy them from Hilleater since I got my clutch from them before if the ones from my old CC battery don't work. I've been trying to keep the charge around 80% through these 2 years, but have been doing 95% this past fall/winter because it does feel like I've lost 15 to 20% capacity.

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

Defintely using dielectric grease this time if I can get it fixed. Just never bother using it because it's been working all this time & the battery seemed secured.

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

Not quite at this point, but probably with another 1-2 years. I do wonder if a premium brand comparable bike would fare better under the same usage.

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

I've had symptom this past month so it wasn't always like this. Have read now that other have had the same issue & it's likely what you described with the arcing. I'm considering trying a repair with leftover parts from my old Cross Current gen 1, but I don't have much experience soldering. The...

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

I used to think it was because it was cheap no brand rim, but a replacement Velocity rim start failing in a similar way (though this was likely due to bad lace-up by the builder). So not sure if rim width is a factor, but a wider rim does seem more ideal.

CCX log after 2 years & 15,000+ miles & melted connectors today.

So I had my CCX since December of 2018 & commute 32 miles roundtrip daily year round. This happened to me today on the last commute of the year. There were signals leading up to this, but today the connection finally totally crapped out & after taking the battery off saw this. Trying to think of...

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Online spoke length calculators. To accomodate the cassette the hub flanges are not centered with the rim so one side of spokes is more angled the the other. To have the same reach the side with more angled spokes needs to be longer.

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

13g Sapim Leader spokes 238.5 & 237.5 for the drive side. I got these lengths off a calculator, but as mentioned it ended up longer then needed.

Has anyone replaced the clutch gear assembly on their CC(S,X)?

I'm on my 3rd clutch after 13k miles. Actually opened up one of the locked up ones & didn't see any damage. There was very little lube in it & perhaps a shiny spot where the rollers jam against the insides. I wonder if it can be rebuilt and if it needs more lube.

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

I on day 3 now with the new DM24 rim & name brand spokes locally bought from Yojimbo's shop that Dunbar linked. So far the rebuild is working, but I haven't fully rechecked tension yet. The spokes were a bit long by 1 to 1.5mm, but I was still able to tension them. Just slightly concerned that...

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

I actually just loosely assembled it 2 days ago since the rebuilt wheel I'm using from my original CC is on the verge of failing itself. Have to see if I can manage without a wheel build stand or dishing tool on hand. A little worried the spokes I bought might be a bit too long as they already...

Help finding Bafang hub replacement parts.

How is the replacement procedure? Is it just removing the axle nuts or do the screws near the freehub need to be removed? I have a Juiced CCX that uses a SWX02 hub motor & I'm wondering if that freehub will be compatible with it. My freehub likely needs servicing or replacement in the future...

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Pretty certain the same style clutch. I think there is only one other type for bafang gear hub motors which looks different enough to not mix up. In my case the clutch internals seem to have broken & started slipping (the gear grind noise) to eventually seizing (acting like a direct drive motor).

Has anyone replaced the clutch gear assembly on their CC(S,X)?

I got it through EBay. The trouble just happen to coincide with Critical Mass, but the clutch was already failing before that.

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Luma Cycle. I think it may have been their last one. Also design for rim brakes but I figure I can paint over the side wall.

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Luna Cycle says "24mm inner width, 32mm outer width. Can take 1.5" to 3" tires only " in their DM24 listing. 1.5" is 38mm & what I've reading is that things are fine as long as the tire is wider then the rim. I'd like to try a wider rim for strength, ability to run lower pressure, & pinch flat...

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Well just swapped the clutch/gear assembly & for now the headlight isn't being powered while the wheel is spinning with the power off. The center keyed bore is suppose to be able to spin one way, but in the old clutch it was frozen. Special tools needed to do this are a T20 security torx bit &...
