The wheel smith at REI rebuilt the wheel ( I think is one of the best bike mechanics in Eugene) with spokes from Currie. He checked all the spokes when I last took it in when I found 1 broken spoke, and all where at the right tension. He thinks it is the quality of the spokes.

I ride this bike as carefully as possible mostly on bike paths, some city streets. I weigh 165 and do have racks on the bike which I use for grocery shopping etc.

Just after I bought this bike, the rear wheel spokes started to break. I had the whole wheel rebuilt with new spokes. Now they are starting to break again!!!

My 2013 Path has no display, I only had to remove the mirror to turn the bike upside down. It was not to hard to get the tire off, getting the rear tire back on seemed very hard and I would definitely not want to try out on the bike path. I would almost like to pay a bike mechanic to show me...

Warning to riders who are not very mechanically inclined. If you get a flat on the rear tire of the 2013 Path, I highly recommend you take it to a good bike shop. It is very difficult to get the tire back on because of the wire coming out from the hub. I feel there is a good chance of a novice...

Finally got my bike back from REI. This time they did replace every spoke. Sure hope that fixes the problem for good! I have around 1052 miles on the bike so far. Mark

I did take my bike back to REI yesterday and they are putting all new spokes on. The main bike mechanic there is very knowledgeable about wheel builds and did check all spokes last time. Hopefully this fixes the problem for good.

I had the spokes replaced at REI. Have ridden on maybe 3 rides since then, now I have the same problem again! Wheel out of true and at least 2 broken spokes. I am beginning to think the bike is too heavy to be supported by the back wheel. Mark
