    Thudbuster and Como Installation

I got a Thudbuster ST for my Como. I see the wire for the light runs through the old seatpost. I can remove the light from the seat but can’t figure out how to get it out of the original seatpost. Then I don’t see what do do with it once I install the thudbuster post. Any suggestions

    Bafang and torque sensing

It is sometimes hard to do research because products change but old info persists. Am I correct in understanding that as of today - mid August 2019 - Bafang makes a motor with torque sensing for purpose-built bikes but not for adding to an existing bike. Is there an aftermarket torque sensor for...

    Looking at used Rook

I have a chance to buy a used Rook that is 1.5 years old with 57 miles on it. It’s a small frame, which I need. According to the seller it has a new battery and he has the receipt. The price is right and it seems like a good deal. Anything I should look at or consider.

    Bafang for best rang

There is a local shop that builds bikes around the Bafang bbs02. They usually use the 36 volt motor with an option for the 48. The bbshd is also an option. They claim that the 36 volt motor will get the best range because it is less powerful. Is this true? What would you use if you don’t care...

Tube size issues - double ended tubes

The rear wheel of my Veego semi fat is a real pain to remove. It’s not feasible to remove it to replace a tube on the road. I am an experienced cyclist who has ridden thousands of miles. I’ve gone long stretches without a flat but I’ve had a day with five flats. I commuted to work for years on a...

    Ride Scoozy Veego Semi Fat

A couple of weeks ago I got a Veego Semi-fat. Bike arrived in great shape with little setup required. Derailleur and brakes were even pretty well adjusted. I rode a couple of days with the cheap platform pedals and my feet kept slipping off so I got a set of Crank Bros platform pedals that work...

    Long tail conversion

I have a Rans crank forward bike to which I added a long tail Xtracycle trailer several years ago. Mostly the bike is used for errands to the grocery store. In the past I owned a retail business and I used the bike to pick up supplies. My fantasy for years has been to put an electric motor on...

    Ebike reliability

About 10-12 years ago I got an early exterra. At the time it was very advanced and a big leap up from Currie bikes. It was at a time when I was out of shape; I started using it for a 12.5 mile commute. On the one hand I loved riding it even though it rode like a truck. On the other hand it was...

Sit on Saddle. Feet on Ground

I am trying to identify Ebikes that will allow you to put your foot on the ground while sitting on the saddle. So far I know of the Electra Townie and Specialized Como. I am a 67 year old woman recovering from cancer therapy. I do have a couple of recumbents and a couple of Rans crank forward...
