    Crank Squeal

Just noticed a high pitched squeal coming from what appears to be motor with every crank cycle. 2019 Explorer E+2

    When to Charge the battery

Lots of opinions when to charge after trip. My tech told me that you should charge no more often than about every third trip if you are averaging 25 kms/trip. My prob is that I live in fear of being stranded with a dead battery and having to pedal the monster home. Tech says charging too...

    Drain Battery Every 3 months:

I gave this up after running out of juice far from home. Now I am charging battery after each trip. I am hearing that conditioning the battery on a regular basis by running it down to almost zero and re charging is a bit of a myth? Does it make a difference to battery life?

Auto Updates on Explorer E +2:

Just cranked over 8000 kms and the little wrench showed up on my display and a message telling me my bike needs attn. Contacted dealer. I was told the updates can make the bike not run quite as well. I was further told to ignore the wrench and keep riding. If I have a prob with the bike...

    Giant Battery Fires

With all the controversy raging, hard to find out if Giant Explorer +2 Batteries are an issue. Is it a fact that poorly maintained batteries and batteries from cheaper ebikes are the main problem. I am also curious to determine if it is still valid to run your battery down to "0" every three...

    Explorer +2 tail lite issues

Anybody experienced tail lite malfunction on Explorer +2? Mine quit working due to a faulty connection at bottom of rear fender. Shop has had difficulty obtaining repair parts from Giant. Apparently requires a completely new wiring harness as the connection at bottom front of rear fender is...

    Rubber Charger cover replacement -

Has anyone had to replace this cover? My dealer got me one but installing is a mystery. It looks like you just force the table into the former crevice that the old one sat in, but I will be damned how it goes in. I do not want to force it. Any help appreciated. Techs not avaiable at the moment.

    New Chain & Cassette

For those of you with Explorer +2 who have been plagued with "cog skip" as I have been, just had new chain & rear cassette installed ($130.00 Cdn). (4000 kms) I was amazed at the transformation. I runs better than new. It is smoother, quieter and nary a skip. Bike tech remarked that they are...

high gear cog at rear wheel.

Realize this has been discussed. Experiencing chain skip. Was told small cog at back (high gear) worn. Not critical but to come back at 4000 kms (3000 mile) Now at 3400 kms and it is skipping quite badly in this gear. I am told that the entire sprocket will have to be changed. Kaching...

    Skipping a Cog

When cranking, my E+1 occasionally "skips a cog". It happens sometimes when I am putting a little extra force on the crank, then once in a while just cruising. Its slightly annoying. I have had it in to dealer, but the skip is still there. Its almost like the chain "skips" a tooth.

    Is My Explorer +1 intuitive?????

First ride in strong headwind. Usually unpleasant and extra effort pedaling. On the ebike, it seemed as though it sensed the wind and my pedaling was effortless. I was amazed. Did not have to move to sport, but kept it on normal. It just took me by surprise that even in windy conditions...

    Little Wrench on my console

Riding today and a small icon wrench appeared. I suspect it may mean some maintenance due. Bike is a year old and has 1800 kms. Bike shop closed due to covid 19. Can anybody advise?

There IS a ceiling to these Superbikes

Challenged a very short steep hill with the Explorer +1. I had tried several times with my conventional 27 speed bikes and never made it more than half way. With the Giant I was down to lowest gear on Sport 2 and almost did not make it, but I came through in the end. I was so impressed with...

    Is Additional Motor Noise Normal

I notice on my Explorer E+1 that I get a bit of extra motor noise when in a lower gear and climbing. Is this expected on an E Bike when the motor is under load. My first year owning the bike is quickly drawing to a close and if I have any warranty issues I would like to catch them. Perhaps I...

    Scwalbe Marathon Plus

Put these dandies on my Explorer +2 after having blowout like experience with stock tires. I had them on my conventional Trek and never got a flat. They are equally wonderful on the Explorer. Question: Will the speedo and odo readouts be off with the new tires. My usual 20 km trip seemed...

    best tire for explorer +2

It was semi dark and I sensed a "mushiness" in steering. Long way from home and I hoped it was not a flat tire. I glanced down at front tire, saw it was deflating. The seconds I took to look down put me in the weeds. Ended up with pavement burns and painful groin stretch, which, apparently...

Slow shift into highest gear and jumping a tooth with hard pedal

Have these two issues with Explorer E +2. Took into shop for adjustment, but both probs still occurring. When shifting, I am not pedaling hard, but back off to let shift happen. Nothing occurs till about a dozen pedal rotations, then it finally slips into highest gear. Will be taking back to...

    Explorer +2

When shifting into higher gear, am finding the bike a bit balky. There is a delay before the shift occurs. Also, putting pressure on crank sometimes it "skips" a tooth. Have had it in to techs who gave it a once over adjusting here and there. Just finished a 33 Km ride and it is still doing...
