bought a gas generator for myLiFePO power station

I thought about it. Maybe $200 for 400 watts of panels. I ordered my power station from a company that also has 400 watt solar panels, but they don't say how long they would need. Maybe that's because it would depend on the intensity of the sunlight. I've lived here 45 years. The longest...

bought a gas generator for myLiFePO power station

I would have loved to buy a small diesel generator if I could find one. Suppose it was only 2,000 watts: I wonder what it would weigh. If a diesel needs a battery to start, fine!. For years we had a small diesel tractor on the farm. It had the power to bush-hog but was thrifty keeping a PTO...

bought a gas generator for myLiFePO power station

Twenty months ago this area lost power for 4 days. A neighbor brought in an extension cord from his generator. A gas engine burns a lot of fuel even with no load. He kept it off much of the time. Even then, he and tens of thousands of others spent hours each day searching for an open gas...

California tries to limit to 250 watt???

That's wrong. The legal specification is that at specified ambient conditions, the motor must reach thermal equilibrium with no more than 250 watts' mechanical output. Thermal equilibrium is defined as a temperature varying by no more than 2 kelvin for an hour. That sounds like obfuscation. Any...

    LiFePO4 upgrade

I wonder if the LiFe PO4 could provide enough amps. (I think it probably could.) I think LiFe PO4 is supposed to last vastly longer than NMC both in charge cycles and in years. They make them for golf carts, typically 100 AH, but Amazon has a 25 AH battery with plenty of amps and only 23...

    LiFePO4 upgrade

I don't know, but I'm interested. Would the new battery be a lot heavier than the old? I've read that LiFe PO4 weighs more per watt-hour than other lithium-ion batteries. Top speed of a PM motor depends on voltage. If your hub motor was designed to top out at 20 mph on 48 volts, it might make...

California tries to limit to 250 watt???

Why didn't prohibitionists think of that argument? Kids are getting drunk on booze their parents buy for them. Therefore, only non-alcoholic beer (0.5%) should be legal. The sponsor must not be taken seriously. She says 750 continuous, 1350 peak, is ambiguous. She says 250 continuous and 750...

How would you do it? (Tongue weighing)

https://www.amazon.com/Outmate-Digital-Handheld-Hanging-Hunting/dp/B09V89K7PQ $17. I spent a little more for the 200 kg version. I've got strong eye screws where I might want to hoist something. A piece of rope would do the trick, though. For a light item, I just hang the scale. For a heavy...

    How about Earles forks?

I'm critical of my Radrunner, but I remember something I loved about it. With 3.3" tires at the recommended 30 PSI, steering was neutral. That is, it felt the same whether the bike was going straight or turning. When you lean, the front contact patch moves to that side. The drag steers the wheel...

    Idaho stops

When i got into e-bikes, I noticed how slow and cumbersome it is to stop at a stop sign. This was particularly true for my first two e-bikes. They were single speed, and for safety, their controllers provided little torque from a stop. It was not only inconvenient but dangerous because getting...

Anybody else oil a chainsaw manually?

Produced from 1967 to 1971. The powerhead weighed 18 pounds, so 20+ sounds like a good estimate. Before 1959, a chainsaw weighed more than 25 pounds. Before 1950, a chainsaw required 2 men. Speaking of fast sawing, how about the New England coastal natives of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode...

Anybody else oil a chainsaw manually?

The manufacturer of my $300 Silky pole saw recommends WD40 when putting it away. That's not very good for stopping rust and doesn't hold up in sawing. I keep 5 W motor oil in a brush-top bottle for it, my pruning saw, my bow saw, my electric hedge trimmer, my hedge shears, my grass shears, my...

Anybody else oil a chainsaw manually?

For more than 10 years, I used a gas saw for the cords of wood to heat a large house. When I moved to town, I went back to the 36" bow saw I 'd bought in the 70s. One day I took it across the street to help the mayor. I made some cuts, and he asked to use it. Quick as a wink, he sawed into dirt...

Anybody else oil a chainsaw manually?

Mine's a Worx. One user said that after 9 years, his quit delivering oil. He opened it up and found brittle plastic at the pump. Another said his chain quit spinning. He opened his up and found that the plastic drive gear had worn smooth. Worx still produces these saws, but gears are not...

Anybody else oil a chainsaw manually?

Nine years ago I bought a 14 A electric chainsaw. It still cuts fast. A couple of years ago, a neighbor wasn't making headway with his gas saw. The teeth were very dull. I brought mine over. Because of a design flaw, it would leak until the oil tank was empty while sitting on a shelf. So I'd...

Clicking Noise At My Bike Rear Wheel

See if all spokes feel equally taut. A loose spoke can allow lateral movement when the hub is hanging by it, and that can make a click. After checking by feel, I make finer adjustments by tapping each spoke with my spoke wrench to be sure all sound similarly tight.
