I think you misunderstand my position. I don't care what other people drive; and I don't care about the availability of charging stations. If people want it, private companies are welcome to support; go Elon (not an Elon fan). I do care about the federal government spending $ to support...

I agree it's easy to plan for knowns. These were both short notice detours that were not on Google Maps (yet) when we got to them. The first one appeared about 20 minutes into our trip on the detour so we could figure out where we could get back on. The forest fire detour didn't show up on...

Back on topic. We're on the road and 2nd instance this year that convinced me EV might suck. This trip, I80 was closed because of an accident. Detour took us about 50 miles off highway; passed 3 stations that had gasoline and diesel, none had charging stations. In this case there would have...

Nope, the Iranian response is the cause. Iran’s beef should be with the USA. The world should have a beef with Iran; their choice to sit back and whine. US inflation isn't terrible, is the rest of world having inflation issues?

Liberals always whine about something; this gives them something unimportant to whine about.

I suppose it's time to get back on topic. We know the differences of opinion on the Iran conflict.

Fine, your countrymen should stop whining about prices (another forum).

Just as acceptable; even trade for Alberta.

Nope, no previous leadership with balls.

    The transition

Nope, other countries should be involved for their own self-interest.

Show me another part of the US that would object to Cascadia. Where do I sign the petition? Can I also offer Chicago?

If you folks have no issues with the hindrance in the area, I agree there is no reason to be involved. I would never expect a management aspect from our neighbors to the north.

It is not ours to manage

    The transition

I have never indicated others should or shouldn't do the EV thing; just that they are not for me. I have always advocated for people to use their resouces wisely. If EV works for them, that'd be a good move. Those that are significantly affected by today's prices probably can't afford to...

Sorry to read that it makes a substantial difference to some; hopefully this is a learning experience going forward for them to change how they live.

Different, yes. Cost to operate the fleet, probably not. Especially compared to the economic impact on Iran. If you believe the click bait video, it mentions the cost to the US for the next 2 years. Nothing compared to the economic impact on Iran for 2 years.

    The transition

Isn't that the best reason for other countries to get involved now, before something bad happens?

    2. This is a bigger "world problem" than US. Time for others to step up. 3. Would prefer we don't do the ground thing. Bye-bye infrastructure from the air. 4. Time for those states to get involved. 5. See 3. 6. It is best to not publicize plans.

The Nuclear avaliablity thing. Unfortunately Iran’s leadership doesn't care about its citizenry and doesn't value life in general; makes for an irrational opponent. Our slowly disabling infrastructure is long overdue.
