    How wide are your handlebars?

This is a how long is a piece of sting conversation. Whatever works. I swapped out the flat bars on my Vado SL the first month I got it, nearly 6 years ago for something with a bit more back sweep, and that came up a bit narrower then stock bars, they are still on the bike and no complaints...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

The issue at Ineos is Radcliffe might be losing interest in cycling, pumping money into Man Utd instead. Along with getting Net Company onboard they are on the hunt for another major sponsor, with Ineos wanting to take a smaller position. So you're right, if they paid €9m for Onley they are...

Yes that part was fasinating. There were also both a bit guarded on what they said, naturally given their new jobs, not to give away too much. What G said about nobody in charge of the peloton chimes with some decisions I've been frustrated watching last year or so, bad tactics, no organised...

Vado SL 4.0 with a suspension fork?

Yes I was writing that post about avinox slightly shaking my head because I can't see why you'd need that much power on a gravel bike, let alone a road bike! For a full fat MTB I can see the advantage, not just power but low weight in comparison and a very competitive price. The Amflows seem...

Just been listening/watching the two Welsh boyos, G and Luke Rowe's podcast called "Wattt's Occuring?" (What's occuring - famous Welsh greeting!) A fascinating post mortem on the Averghne Rhone Alps. It's a long slow chat basically so don't click if you want something exciting/short. Luke...

Just took it for a quick spin. Fast as F! Definitely worth tidying up a bit. Nice project.

A number of supposed GC-centric teams are coming up short. Net Company INEOS have had a low key Giro and bad Duaphine/Rhone. Boro still have the same top heavy issues as at the start of the season. Too many chefs not enough mountain doms. Can Decathlon protect their new jewel? Looks unlikely on...

Vado SL 4.0 with a suspension fork?

Sandyman, if you get to love the front sus and want a wee bit more power(!), the Girona based Megamo bikes have just released 2 models with the Avinox (M2S) motor - and one is a gravel bike with front suspension. Not crazy money either, starting at €3,699 for a flat bar version, €3,999 drops...

So I have to figure this out Rab- on my Vado SL, it being fairly light, I ride unassisted when it feels good, ie the flats, tailwind, descending & I hit assist then when the bike starts feeling heavy and sluggish under me, start of a hill for instance. Now your Giant has a bigger battery and a...

Seixas took your advice Stomp. Should have retired last night. Good controlled win for Del Toro, the young Aussie holds on to 2nd. Jorgensen slipped to 4th. Tour of Switzerland has Pog, Pidcock back from his ravine dive injuries and a surprise MVDP.

RAD RACE - Berlin - of course it would be a Berlin undergrond scene! I as conflating Red Hook (Brooklyn fixie crits outdoors) and Rad Race - which is held in an inddor Go Kart track and of course isn't sanctioned by the UCI (yet. if they think money can be made off it, they'll swoop in, like...

I posted this on the "our Rides..." thread because it has more footfall and this looked so much fun: I love city centre racing at night. Like when Formula 1 started running under lights it adds a special excitement. This is where we need more mad ideas to get people interested in the sport...

Turbo Vado SL5 2022 wheelset recommendation

Wow. Never had that problem, or heard of it on here. 3 cranks? Something dodgy going on there. I have my Vado SL coming up for 6 years no issue like that (thank god). How old is the bike? Much mileage?

Vado SL 4.0 with a suspension fork?

Or 26er rigids! Back as a teen in the 80s we bombed down any trail we could find. Bunnyhopping holes, like those nasty water courses that gouge little ravines across the paths that are deadly. No suspension back then, 1.9 inch tyres, canti brakes but good low gears with 3x. Great competitions...

    2026 FIFA World Cup

Scotland like Ireland (we didn't make the cut this time, again) make heavy weather at scoring. Great defences, make it hard for any attacking team no matter the reputation, but hard to get ball in the net, so a lot of torturous 1-0 or 1-1s. Torturous especially for the fans!
