Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Okay, those are good points. Just ordered the frame mounted one. Thanks for the input.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Does your trailer feel pretty stable with the axle mount? I'm wondering if frame mount is better. They're way more expensive for some reason.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Cool, thanks. I'm wondering if the spring was for an adapter the previous owner used, actually. She said she had an ebike and said she needed an adapter to connect the trailer, but couldn't find it.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Okay, so.... it's been a while. Bike is working great (I still need to post an experience & review thread) but the dog situation still unresolved. I did try a backpack, but for one thing he kind of freaks out when hoisting him up and letting him down. Also, given that he's around 18lbs, I...

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

It's been a process.... mostly due to issues on Ride1Up's end (missing part etc.). Then a final one stemming from my own dunderheadedness... But it should finally be done today. I'm going to do a review thread about the Turris at some point.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Haha, yeah mine's half chihuahua, too. I've had 3 people recommend backpacks now, so I'm going to order one and try it out. The more I think about it, it seems like much less hassle than a trailer, especially for a 17lb dog.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

I was thinking it might also be possible to get an extension to attach it to the seat post, which is what Ride1Up suggested. They said better weight distribution would put less strain on the motor.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Now a few people have recommended dog backpacks, so I'm going try to test one out with my dog. Seems easier and more portable for walking around after parking.

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Here's the bike axle, and my first post has a screengrab of the instruction manual for the trailer I'm looking at: I was told in a FB group that I'll need to either get an hitch adapter (top) or use a pipe hanger bracket (bottom):

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

Haha, yeah, the "hangdog" expression is real. I wonder how stable those one-wheeled trailers are. Given that I see e-bikes of all brands with trailers pulling kids and bigger dogs, I'm tending to be a little skeptical about Ride1Up's advice. I mean, they basically all have similar design and...

Using a Pet Trailer with a Ride1Up Turris?

I recently bought a Turris (so recently that I'm still assembling). I'm looking for experience/advice about carrying a dog. I was thinking about this trailer from Lectric. But.... Ride1Up says that they don't recommend axle-mounted trailers because they put excess weight on the left side...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

This afternoon I had the opportunity to ride a Veloctric Discover 2 750w with a torque sensor, immediately followed by Veloctric Discover 1 with a cadence sensor and 500w. My verdict is that although they're different, I didn't immeasurably prefer the D2. I did have to change the PAS more on the...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

Okay, I'll try to find a torque sensor bike to try out. The couple of times I rode a friend's RadBike with cadence I didn't have any issue, though since it was the first time I'd ever ridden an e-bike I was just enjoying the novelty of it and didn't really pay attention.

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

I'm not sure about that because the Turris was only recently upgraded. They seem to be pushing it pretty hard. I'm glad for the fenders, lights, and hybrid-type tires,a actually. I will have a second look at the LMT'D before ordering... though I'm not sure what you mean by "a geeky one piece...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

Thanks! It's a great city to explore and this seems the idea way to do it. Yeah, I was thinking two locks, actually - one for front and one for back. Maybe even a third for when I have the dog trailer. And definitely a helmet, too 👍 I've been fortunate enough that I've never had an accident on...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

I love the 170i. Only problem is that it's in New Mexico and would cost a lot to get it here. That's partly why I'm opting for an e-bike, but at some point might get another Buddy, too, if I feel the e-bike isn't enough. Good point about rentals. They're all over the place here. I'll check...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

I've checked and there are places that will service them, and in fact R1U recommended one. I'm in San Francisco and there are quite a few ebike retailers here, but most are high-end. From what I understand R1Up's D2C business model means that it wouldn't make sense for retailers to stock them...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

I'm open to other brands, but R1U seems like the best value. I think I prefer the tires on the Turris because they seem more versatile for trails or sandy areas. I know I could replace them on the LMT'D but it already costs $300 more than the Turris. Unfortunately, there's no way to test at a...

    First E-Bike: Ride1Up Turris?

Having done some reading online, it seems like the Ride1Up Turris is a very good bike for $1,295. I also considered their Cafe Cruiser but the Turris seems more versatile for trails + urban. It's also 10lbs lighter, and they've also upgraded the torque since last year, and added a tail light...
