    D-Lock for Supercharger 2

I have considered them, but they may be overkill for me here in Perth as where I will be locking up the bike is already semi-secured plus the excess on my insurance is less than the price of the lock. Other than touring (low risk) I do not tend to leave the bike unattended for other than maybe...

Australia: 99 Bikes Green Team Challenge

If you are willing to commute to work a minimum of three days a week for 99 weeks, 99 Bikes is offering nine people a chance to complete the challenge on a supplied ebike, a Merida, Cube or Pedal e-bike, which you get to keep at the end of the 99 weeks. They also supply accessories, including...

    D-Lock for Supercharger 2

I plan to use my Supercharger 2 to ride to law school (campus), and whilst it is 'locked' in a bike cage, it still needs to be secured with a lock approved by my insurance company, such as the Abus Ultra 410 U Lock SH34. I prefer a D-Lock rather than a chain for convenience, but I am curious...

Stolen e-bike batteries could be made worthless if Bosch was less greedy

Not sure where you are getting that idea from. The article refers only to a digital lock.

    Battery recharge with dynamos?

My experience with two bikes with dynamos is that over a day of riding (mostly touring or Audax), the dynamo will keep the lights on and maybe maintain the battery charge on the GPS or at least slow down the drain. Turning the lights off does help with the GPS charge, of course). I cannot see...

Pannier bag update, the ultimate hack!

Here in Australia, we would call that a MacGyver after MacGyver of the TV series.

    c02 Inflator Question

If it was for motorbikes, then it would likely be for Schrader value. It also looks like it is for a Schrader value as well.

Inner tubes. Our friend AND enemy.

While my preference is nowadays to go tubeless, I do carry a Schwalbe tube as a spare. I have had on occasion over the years a tube split at the seam. I never thought of it as being a product failure, just what it was, a tube failure.

    Warning regarding Ortlieb Panniers

I have numerous bags, including an Ortlieb one with end buckles. They have never bothered me, but each to their own. Put it this way I would not buy a bag just because of this.

Should I Buy A Pedal Wrench?

I had never seen or heard of pedal washers and, hence, never used them on any of my bikes over the years. What is seen as the advantage of them?

    Electric Air Pumps 2024

I may well end up with one, but I assume that they are made in China, so I am going to try again to see if I can get something from the same manufacturer or similar. I am not quite ready to pay four times the price just yet.

Wahoo Kickr Indoor Trainer With an e-bike?

I am not a fan of indoor trainers but an e-bike can be an effective training tool. For example Zone 2 training is quite possible on a e-bike and hence would be possible on a trainer.

    Electric Air Pumps 2024

Update: I purchased a Cyclami A2S MiniPump from AliExpress. It has now been submitted for a warranty/refund claim, which requires the pump to be returned to an Australian address before a refund is issued. The attached videos explain why (apologies for the lack of editing). Bottom line: I...

Should I Buy A Pedal Wrench?

I use a allen key t-handle spanner. However, I also add Shimano Anti-Seize to the threads (I am sure that there are alternatives that do the same job). Makes like so much easier down the track when I need to remove the pedals.

    Superdelite5

The weight appears to be around 36 kg, depending on the version. From a loaded touring perspective, at least for me, that would exceed my limit.
