Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Agree Roch - there's a different feel to a lighter bike than the SL. I take out my regular bikes from time-to-time and still get plenty of fun with them. I would say - I like the 'beefy' feel of the SL too though - in it's own way. Yeah, heavier and not quite as reactive but I'm less nervous...

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

I actually think wildly obvious is a good thing - in a way. But I feel you. btw - held on by 'special' screw type that requires uncommon bit to remove/install

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

Besides a lock, I've also purchased a small container that fits under a water bottle holder and contains an Apple Airtag. I'll get my bike back eventually. :)

Grip your Ergon's. Now move your hand's out a little. That's right - you can't.

That's too bad in a way. You're missing one of the big advantages of an eBike which is weight doesn't matter nearly as much and you can choose the best components based on what you want and need as opposed to how many grams you're adding.

I like 38's. A good compromise. Worst case is pure sand and I admit it's tricky. But the 38's are awesome for road and handle gravel with aplomb. The Pathfinder Sports that come with the SL are great. They have a bead that runs pavement beautifully but have a good, course side tread which...

    Cadence question

SL seems to respond well with higher cadence.

    Handlebar Mods

Carbon fiber handlebars are so cheap on Amazon. But I would argue for a name brand like Richey. I purchased Chinese CF - seat post. After a month, on a MTB ride, bounced down on it from a root and it cracked and shredded. Thank goodness I didn't get hurt as a result. Had to ride back with...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I have to say I'm probably the one person that doesn't like those grips. I find them too restrictive. Think about it - you don't always rest your whole hand on the grips. Sometimes you only use part of your hand and the Ergon takes that away. And even the little bit extra weight on the end...

It's tucked in the frame. Regarding special rim for riding rougher trails. My stock SL have handled anything I've thrown at them. Including light mountain bike trails and no problem. One set of wheels is really all you need imo.

An advantage of wider bars is simply more room and the ability for more positions for your hands. On a long trip that's valuable to me. I have never experienced wobble.

Vado 4.0 SL EQ - is mine a lemon?

I only get 15 miles on turbo. You've got a keeper!! To me, sounds like you should have purchased a Vado - not SL.

Doing my very 1st "Century" tomorrow with the new Vado 5.0!!!!!

The thing about shore riding is the wind. So if you can go with the wind and then use E-power to get back on the up-wind leg >> should be a great ride!

New Como 5.0 Rock Shock fork not working

If the LBS wants rid of you permanently as you're implying, they played it stupid. If they had ignored you for another week you would have 'sold out'. Instead - they upped the drama with the offer and you're hooked even more. And when you keep repeating that you love a brand that's caused you...
