Hiya... I've got an Allant+ 8, and my battery lock is fernickety. Usually it works OK, then it will take 4 or 5 attempts to unlock, and once it didn't want to let me put the battery back in. I've always been surprised that I have to turn the key to get the battery back in - on my wife's Trek...

I use the fahrer cover that you link to when carrying our trek bikes on the bike rack, and I put on a terminal 'plug' too though that isnt really necessary as the fahrer covers are great. Other than that I just wipe round with a dry cloth occasionally, usually after washing the bikes.

you get the same data/display if you use a Kiox unit too - smaller and cheaper than the Nyon (but has less functionality)

+1 for the Fahrer cover - I've got one for my Allant+ 8 and the wife has one on her TM4+ lowstep. Fits both perfectly. Only drawback is removing the bottle cage first (if you have one installed there)

I was getting this too. I have found that it always works OK if I open the bosch app on my phone just before setting off and check that it is connected to the kiox. Sometimes it has disconnected for some reason - I click connect and then it is fine
