    Hydraulic brake product/install knowledge?

Thank you for the suggestions! Agreed. Aside from the fact that I don't want to pay $170 for a partially hydraulic system when I could pay less for full, I want to avoid stretch. If I'm upgrading components, I want to chose those that make things as simple as possible... once they're installed...

    Hydraulic brake product/install knowledge?

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my Rad Mini 4's stock brakes soon and want to learn what I need first. If any of this is possible... Since the Shimano (cut-to-order) 355/365's aren't available right now, I'm looking for something I'll need to cut and bleed. Preferably, something that's not lower...

Rad power upgrade- 10 pin brake\throttle extension

Haven’t gotten the 750…yet. Not sure if I will though. I don’t need the extra speed. I wanted the controller upgrade because of my hilly neighborhood to help with the (injury), pain when I pedal hard. But it would be fun so maybe down the road. It would also making traveling on 25mph roads less...

Rad power upgrade- 10 pin brake\throttle extension

Thank you. I'm satisfied with the end result...or expect I will be once installed. :)

Rad power upgrade- 10 pin brake\throttle extension

Sorry... Went to sleep right after my last post last night. USA...Maryland. I installed Boltons 35a upgrade kit a couple weeks ago...and you're 100% correct, that's why the cable's too short. It travels along the underside\front of the controller instead of behind it. This leaves it stretched...

Rad power upgrade- 10 pin brake\throttle extension

Thank you, both for the suggestions. I might have stayed stuck on extending the one cable for another week. I was focused on extending that thicker (4:1) cable coming from the controller. A complete set would be a suitable solution and I would have already ordered it if I could I find the 10 pin...

Rad power upgrade- 10 pin brake\throttle extension

Hi, Anyone know where to find 10 pin extension cables? It's probably fine, but has some tension on it after the upgrade due to the one sided placement of the controller's output cables. Thanks

Do I need to use Park Tool AP-1 primer?

This is for a new Rad Mini 4. Replacing some of the button head screws I stripped with an old hex bit. Using the same silver 10.9 grade screw, but with socket heads instead. Was about to apply a drop of Park Tool's TLR-1 when I noticed the note stating the AP-1 primer is required for anything...

    Screw sizes and metal type?

I'm a regular at the Ace around the corner. :) Unfortunately, they have a limited supply. I grabbed the last handful of silver 10.9 socket heads. I tried Tractor Supply with less luck. I'll make the 20 mile trip to Home Depot and Lowe's Land this afternoon to see if a blk socket head version...

    Screw sizes and metal type?

Thanks, indianajo. Yep, that’s what came up with too. The blk ox socket heads are 12.9. Guess I’ll still with stainless steel socket heads. I’d like to find a table with the screw sizes for Rad Power bikes.

    Screw sizes and metal type?

Any body know where I can find the screw below, but with a socket head and still grade 10.9? Amazon.com: M5 x 8 mm Button Head Hex Socket Cap Screws, 10.9 Grade Alloy Steel, Black Oxide Finish, 100 PCS : Industrial & Scientific I'm aiming for M5 / 12mm / .8 / 10.9 / Blk Oxide... Preferably...

    Screw sizes and metal type?

Nah..I'd never use a power tool on my bike. I enjoy the more delicate nature of the bike work with hand tools. I'll keep my power tools for the bigger jobs. :) I have a small torque wrench I probably don't need. I tested and I get it pretty close without, but I'm still using it for a while...

    Screw sizes and metal type?

Hi, Some of my old hex bits damaged a couple screw heads. I want to replace the screws before they get stripped even with a new bit at this point. Does metal type matter? I don't want to get something that's too hard and end up stripping threads on the frame, but I'd like to get something...

    Is my caliper causing squealing?

Got exactly what I expected. My first eBike that fits well within my budget, allowing easy upgrades. Which are inexpensive and readily available with compatible connections. The price dropped so I put the extra money into upgrades that leave me with an eBike with better components than I...

RadRover 6 Plus Strong enough for hills?

I just purchased, then exchanged an RR6 for a Mini 4 last month. It's not that the RR6 was too big for me. Just too big for me and my family's travel space. I test rode it in my hilly neighborhood and it did fine. I would've kept it if I had a better place to ride it without having to load it up...

    Rad Mini Brake Squeal

You are correct. It was a double post. Realized it might be better placed here and was falling over myself with the joy of setting things up. No point in using the forum if I don't post end results on my own questions once resolved. Still getting accustomed to how helpful and responsive folks...

    Is my caliper causing squealing?

Thank you. I wanted it to ride and also to tinker with. It's perfect all around. Rad is unable to get the Kenda 4" tires they were selling with the bikes. One of the reasons the price dropped by $300. They're using the 3" CST Big Boat road tire from the Rad Runner for now. I wanted a better...

    Is my caliper causing squealing?

Yep. That's exactly what mine looks like. I guess I should replace them then. :-D I tightened the inner pad, loosened the calipers, strapped down the hand lever, slipped an index card in between the inner pad and rotor, tightened the caliper (took a couple tries and had to apply light pressure...

    Rad Mini Brake Squeal

Less than 10 miles on the bike. It squeals over about 3-4" section of the rear rotor. I cleaned them yesterday. Will try again tomorrow maybe with acetone. Removed front and rear rotors Soaked rotors 20 minutes in 90% alcohol, then wiped thoroughly with lint free cloth Wiped pads down with 90%...

    Is my caliper causing squealing?

Thank you. I'll give the acetone a shot tomorrow on my day off. I'm going to ask the question below in the Rad forums, but thought I'd note it again here. Rode it last night and again today. Squeal starts up when the power to the motor cuts off and I'm not applying the brake. If I stop...
