Thanks I am looking forward to hearing how it turns out for you. Outside of this issue, I have almost 4000 miles on my VADO 4.0 with flawless performance.

Wondering if anyone has any idea what glue or how the gorilla glass is attached (maybe similar to fixing a smart phone??). It's gotten a bit worse and I would like to try to just fix it. My VADO is my only method of transportation and I would really not like to drop it off at my LBS then walk...

I tried that and it made it worse. Thanks for the info.

Do you know if I can just replace the display, wire it back up, and it will just work, or do I really need to take it to the LBS?

They do have a hole at the top that is used as a handle (I carry mine into stores like a basket) you could put a cable through that when it is installed on the bike.

I have noticed that the bottom right hand corner of the display appears to be separating and it has gotten worse in the past month. Has anyone else seen this problem? Feeling the tolerance between the glass and rubber housing... the glass isn't protruding upwards it seems to be separating...

My 2022 Vado 4.0 works fine. I am not updating either.

Damn I ran Solaris boxes back then too (much respect). I am getting ready to retire but currently running scores of k8s clusters for a fortune 50 company. I love Unix/Linux. I never had to get into management or business (I hold them with great disdain).

I have been very impressed with the Coolcave panniers. You can fill them with drinks and ice for slow roll rides people can just reach in. They also have a rubber pug at the bottom you can remove to drain. They hold more than a full grocery bag too!

Anytime the ambient temperature outside goes below 42 degrees all of the buttons (except F2 and power on/off) on my 2022 VADO 4.0 don't work. But everything works again once the temp goes above 42. I was out riding last weekend in 18-degree weather... this weekend it has been 58 and everything...

Did you take off the drive side or non drive side?

It "would" work on the Vado if the handlebars were higher (like the Como). Ah well... :-(

Wire strippers, heat shrink, soldering iron, and about 10” of extra wire. Be cognizant where you cut the wire. I cut mine 5” from the light. Strip the wires, tin them with solder. Then put the heat shrink on, twist the connections together and solder. Last use a lighter or heat gun to get the...

So this new video will show the basket installed the correct way on the adventure plate… Huh maybe I did something wrong and it will work. I’ll try again.

I didn’t remove the motor cover but I did remove the battery and looking into the motor didn’t look like any slack was available.

Mine was too short as well. But my 2022 vado was one of the early ones and is in reality a year old or more. Maybe they updated the cable length later on after the adventure plate design was finalized?
