Now that’s something I’ve not thought of but will for sure experiment with. Much appreciated. What do you run your tire pressure at?

    Suspension seat post for C380

The bike weight is listed at 25.6kg. I weigh 70.8kg and I do not carry any cargo weight of any significance. Right now I’m primarily doing local trail rides ( 90% asphalt) of +/- 30 km per day until such time as I get accustomed to riding again after many years.

    Suspension seat post for C380

Well, been a few days since I’ve posted due to my trial and error adjustments to get a comfortable ride. Thus far I’ve changed out the saddle to a Selle Royal Lookin Relaxed which gives me some cushioning with thicker padding and a pair of rubber shock absorbers. Secondly many seat adjustments...

    Suspension seat post for C380

Interestingly enough, my setup looks exactly like Steve’s and Ginger’s. Not sure I could handle that seat position. Upon further investigation, taking a measuring tape and level, the difference in my case from the photo is approximately 1.5”.

Nice pic. Noticing your water bottle placement because I’ve been mounting and remounting mine most of today. Started out mounting it where you have it then thought it was too crowded at the handlebar, shifted it below the seat post which seems to defeat the step through benefit. Tried attaching...

Merely point out a statistical discrepancy in your comment, nothing more.

Difference between adventure and touring cycling?

@Stefan Mikes , for the record, the population of Canada as at April 1, 2023 is 39.9M so you’re off about 13.9M :)

Welcome aboard Steve. Fairly new here myself, after just purchasing the 2023 C380 pretty much the mirror of yours, excepting the flag, I’d need the maple leaf version. I have shortlisted the Brooks B68 as well as SQLab 621 M-D Active, Ergonomic ST Core Evo and the Stefan’s Road/MTB Comfort...

    Suspension seat post for C380

I expect the only real option for us short folk at the moment is to focus on the saddle, more specifically the proper fitting saddle and setup on the bike. Secondary might be the padded shorts. I’ve been researching the former and came across some interesting info on the SQLabs website on sit...

    Thoughts on Cafe Lock removal?

I suppose if someone wanted to steal it bad enough it would be near impossible to prevent that whether they had an angle grinder, bolt cutters or just lift it in the back of a van or pickup truck. These devices only act as a deterrent to make them work for it.

    Thoughts on Cafe Lock removal?

Couldn’t agree more. Having the lock is fine, it does add a level of security and while it may damage spokes if someone attempted to steal it, the repair might be cheaper than losing the entire bike. However, not being able to remove the key is a flaw in my opinion. Don’t see the logic in that...

Not fully extended but almost, just a very slight bend. I do not have to roll my hip

    Suspension seat post for C380

Appreciate the recommendation. I have been researching options for a different saddle and there are a lot to choose from. Might be a trial and error exercise.

    Suspension seat post for C380

Just purchased a 2023 Gazelle C380 and after a couple 15 km rides I’m finding the bumps unbearable on the behind. So, my question is, has anyone swapped their regular seat post out for a suspension one, and if so which one? I know prior to the 2023 models they did have a suspension post but not...

    E-bike Newbie

What I’m looking to do with the Bosch smartphone grip is to use it as a replacement to the Kiox 300 display as I find the screen small. So you merely remove the Kiox 300 display, attach the Bosch smartphone attachment (they call it a grip) and insert the phone to communicate with the bike. It’s...

@Stefan Mikes, can you elaborate on why I shouldn’t use my iPhone attached in place of the Kiox 300 display? Certainly wouldn’t want to damage the phone in any way.

Well did my first ride today, having had pouring rain since I bought the bike, not sure if that’s an omen or not. Did a 15.5 km ride, first bike ride in, I’m guessing 50 years. While it was a “learning the bike ride”, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Figured out Eco mode was a bit too tame, Auto worked...

    E-bike Newbie

Well, recently back from the LBS that had the 2023 models of the Gazelle C380 and Specialized products albeit not the Como 5.0. It did however have the 2023 Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH with the AutomatiQ. Needless to say I had a great time riding as many as I could in the time I had, both belt and chain...

OK, have read the Bosch material and all sounds impressive. I am a firm believer in new technology but not so sure I’d want to be the guinea pig (reference early adopter for the AutomatiQ). New technology generally comes with a period of gremlins until enough real world adopters give the...
