Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

Yes me too. I know that noise well.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

I thought about the pivot bolt and tension so I did a test with a bungie cord to add a bit more tension and there was no change. There is no play in the crank or crank arms that can detect and I'd like to think it's not the motor because the noise happens with the motor off. By the way, the...

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

I have tried observing while riding and also had an observer ride next to me. There were no unusual movements during the clicking. Maybe a GoPro would help.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

Oh yeah. I forgot to add.... I can't get it to click on a bike stand. Even if I hold the brake and pedal, no click!

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

So here is where we are today with the clicking. I'll get two clicks per revolution only at certain torque and cadences. More torque and the noise will go away, less torque and the noise goes away. It happens in all gears, seated or standing. The sound is louder with pedal assist on any level...

CREO SL clicking/snapping noise while pedaling

Does the freehub body pop off by pulling on the cassette or is their another procedure that you need to use?

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

Not the motor cover. I put a piece of rubber in the gap where it was rubbing. The problem is still there.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

Good idea. But I changed the pedals and the noise is still there.

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Tick-Tock Noise

I have a Turbo Vado SL 4 with about 1700 miles on it. When I pedal between 40 rpm - 50 rpm at a higher power level (like accelerating or climbing) I hear and feel a Tick-Tock noise once per crank revolution. It goes away when I get up to 80 rpm. The noise happens in all gears seated or...

Vado SL 4 with Garmin Explore 2 - Data Field Question

Ironically I just had Pączki and I think you are talking about my uncle Jasio! So what I think happens is if the E-bike Field app connects to the bike before the Garmin does, E-bike Field displays the assist mode correctly. But as soon as the bike connects to the Garmin or something changes on...

Vado SL 4 with Garmin Explore 2 - Data Field Question

Yes it was installed through ConnectIQ. But after reading the description, is says to disconnect the eBike sensor before using Ebike Field because they can't be used together because of a Garmin limitation.

Vado SL 4 with Garmin Explore 2 - Data Field Question

It worked once. After I turned the bike on a second time the data didn't display.

Vado SL 4 with Garmin Explore 2 - Data Field Question

I just migrated from a Wahoo Bolt 2 to a Garmin Explore 2. On the Wahoo, the assist modes show up the same as on the bike (ECO, SPORT, TURBO). However, on the Garmin they show as 1, 3, 5. Is there any way to edit this data field so it more accurately matches the bike mode? Thanks!

    TCU to Mastermind TCU Upgrade

I use the new Specialized app not Mission Control. I didn’t think Mission Control was still available. The Mastermind is not an upgrade that I would say is mandatory. If you like to have data available to you during your ride it’s great. I have a few customized screens set up that I use...

    TCU to Mastermind TCU Upgrade

The upgrade went well. I was surprised on how bright the display is. It's very easy to see in bright sunlight or shade. It seems like all of the typical Mastermind features are there. Microtune is pretty nice and I find myself using it frequently. The only issue is that my Wahoo Bolt 2...

    TCU to Mastermind TCU Upgrade

I verified that my 2022 Vado SL 4 can be upgraded to the Mastermind TCU. But does anyone know exactly what new features I will get?

Replacing The Coin Battery In the Specialized SL TCU Gen 1

Tapping the battery out is the way to go. HOWEVER, make sure you move the little tab out of the way before you start tapping. So do the first few taps while holding the tab down. When the tab stays down by itself, tap a little harder and the battery should just slide out.
