NSW [Australia] considering plan to halve power and top speed of ebikes as rider dies in collision with garbage truck

It's worth pointing out that they drive on the wrong side of the road in Australia. So our right turns would be their left turns. They also have a lot more traffic circles, even in residential neighborhoods.

    New Tariffs 2025 !

I wasn't talking about increased prices due to higher costs in the supply chain. It's a given that wont' be refunded. And companies absorbed a lot of those higher costs, so they need to make that up. I bought a torque sensor on Alibaba a few weeks ago, which is still enroute to me. They...

    New Tariffs 2025 !

Do you really believe that money hungry attorneys won't create class action lawsuits and bundle all the small companies into them? Of course, only the attorneys make out in that situation. I don't think it will get that far though. The government will create a program for dispersing refunds...

    Winter Sucks

About ten years ago, I did a project on Guam for the local power company there (owned by the government of Guam). Guam is an island near the equator and is hot all year long. So they run their air conditioners 24/7/365. Fuel oil for the power company's generators is brought in by ship and...

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

Possibly, but you could cut the front of the table off and mount the stand further back. They sell tables with different leg configurations and the switch is just screwed in the table top and can be moved. You would want a table with three segment legs because the two piece legs only go down...

    Winter Sucks

I put it on my existing cement driveway underneath my carport to keep the snow off (have both a garage and a carport). The auto-transfer switch is installed in the utility room in the back of the house, so I had to trench for conduit from the house to the generator and they put in a subpanel...

Need Recommendation For A Lift To Work On Our Two Heavy Ebikes

You might be able to bolt a bench stand to an electric standing desk. I am not sure it would be that much cheaper unless you got a deal on a used standing desk though.

    Winter Sucks

My generator runs on natural gas and natural gas is far cheaper here in SoCal to heat with than electricity. I still can't convince my wife to stop using the electric space heater. It drives me crazy and drives the electric bill up. My generator is an Onan/Cummins 12Kw. I bought it online and...

    Winter Sucks

I travel a lot for work and my wife couldn't operate a regular generator by herself. The power goes out here all the time. It was out for two days last week during the storm. Our home standby generator has an auto transfer switch and comes on automatically when the power goes out. I have...

I bought a Grin Satiator equivalent for $77 CAD

Hard wired is the best choice. Wireless motors are always unreliable because of EMI from the magnets interfering. I can tell you have been around that block a few times.

    Newbie Here

I would have taken it to a locksmith before I drilled the lock. They could have picked the lock and maybe made a key for it. You could still do that. It's possible they would have a lock cylinder that would fit. It looks like these bikes are a Giant product and the battery is still available...

    Broke two spokes today

They are common, as are broken spokes. Most bike shops will have them and be able to fix this issue. You can also buy them online. Some bike shops will have the Phil Wood machine and be able to cut custom length spokes. These are usually single gauge and not necessarily stronger than double...

    Shimano Linkglide for e bikes.

Yeah, if you can just replace the worn cogs, the savings will add up if they go out in 4000 miles. At least the way you ride. 4000 miles takes me a few years.

Can 36v be better than 48?

You would need a motor with a faster winding. For the same winding on a motor a higher voltage will top out at a faster speed than a lower voltage.

how to transfer image from Android SMS to email?

Tap the picture in the text to select it and tap the download icon (down arrow to an inbox). Then go to the gallery and select the photo. There should be an option to email to someone (sideways V shaped icon) if you have an email account configured on your phone.

Can 36v be better than 48?

If I had to guess, 36V batteries may be easier / cheaper to source. Higher voltage has a few advantages, like lower current for the same power, but a 36V bike can be engineered to provide the same power and speed as one with a 52V battery. You are just going to need thicker wires, a controller...
