Mid drive motor opinion clearance bike

Literally any bike in good working condition, including analog bikes, would be suitable for commuting a few flat kilometers to work and back. A good commuter will usually feature lights for riding at night and a rack for bringing stuff to and from work. But you can get by with a backpack and...

    Rohloff or not?

Well, that's what the hand pump is for. Or Uber.

    Rohloff or not?

I have a Makita inflator that runs on my 18V tool batteries that I use in the garage. I suppose I can use the portable pump once in a while. The portable pump was meant to replace the CO2 cartridges in my field kit. I just charged it up all the way and put it in the bag. I am not going to do...

    Rohloff or not?

I recently bought a Fanttik X10 Tiny pump. It's smaller than a couple of CO2 cartridges and nozzle. It is only good for a couple or three tires before you have to recharge it though. The hose acts as a schrader adapter. It can go right on a presta valve without the hose.

    Biking With a Smartwatch

I just want to add that it is generally better to use a built in watch face as some of the third party watch faces drain the battery much quicker than the optimized built in watch faces. Particularly faces that show seconds or other fields that update frequently. As far as apps go, I just...

    Biking With a Smartwatch

I use my Fenix E to record all my outdoor activities, including bike rides. I have an android phone. The alerts work fine and you can filter which apps you want alerts from. I haven't added any apps and use one of the built in watch faces.

I don't even think Denny's would go there. But then again, they did to Moons over My Hammy.

    Clean Custom Conversions

That's the problem with do it yourself. Most people doing it aren't engineers. Fortunately, we have the Internet these days where information and instructional videos are easy to come by. You will still get people building dangerous bikes and doing crazy things because it sounded cool.

Anyone else still putting miles on their RipCurrent S?

They will either make something people want to buy or they will have wasted their money buying the Juiced name and assets. I never understood the Juiced Scrambler and it didn't appeal to me at all, but I understand that was their best selling ebike.

Anyone else still putting miles on their RipCurrent S?

It's a shame you ended up with an orphaned product. However, in order for Lectric to provide a legally compliant battery for old Juiced ebikes, they would have to design new batteries with the same form factor and specs. The old batteries were not UL certified. Other components like the...

While through axles are stronger, it depends on the use case. In my experience, 10mm axles work fine for hub motors used on the road or MUPs. A good torque arm is important though.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

A bigger issue with drop bars is the integrated shifters in the brake levers. I guess with electronic shifters/derailleur that problem goes away.

Privacy on the Internet has been non-existent for decades. Browser cookies were invented in 1994. Google, Facebook/Meta, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft all have databases on you even you don't have an account on their systems. If you think they don't already know your birthdate, where you live...

I've been in a couple of LBS' that would only work on high end bikes. It's certainly not every LBS, but they are out there. Probably because they don't want to deal with rude customers looking for free or cheap LBS support for their Walmart bike. I have also walked into an LBS looking for some...

    correct connections when charging

The sparking is from arcing when the voltage potential overcomes the electrical resistance of the air separating the contacts. XT90 connectors are available with anti-spark. But if you plug the battery into the charger first, of course it won't spark. I use the Grin Satiator charger. You can...
