Last week I was informed that the Model A will be the first to get the torque sensor and it could be a while before the Model E gets if. So, I changed from the E to a Model R with a Cadence sensor and will let others try it out first. I understand that our 2 bikes are being built today.

That would be nice... However, I wonder if different controllers impact that idea?

On one of the videos for EBC updates for 2023, EBC said they will have a new Model J (if I remember correctly?). Anyone want to take a stab at what it might be? I will start with 2 possibilities. First one is a mid motor bike. Second, is a cargo bike.

If throttles are illegal to have on public roads, why do almost every other seller/manufacturer of e-bikes have bikes with throttles? What am I missing? Also, they are going to have a new model that will have a throttle ....

When it comes time to replace tires on the model E, what is the widest width one can safely put on? Also, are there any kind of "knobby" tires we could use and still be comfortable on roads?

When I talked to them about 6 weeks ago, I believe I was told that the current motor was not suited for a throttle or they would let their customers know as many have inquired about that.

Priority is going to sell a single speed beach cruiser in January with a throttle. They also informed me that no decisions have yet been made to add a throttle to the Current yet.

I have ordered a new Electric Bike Company Mode E with the first torque sensor offered by them. They will be shipping these in mid to late February, so I am expecting them to implement it properly as they set such high standards.

I asked them about adding a throttle to the Current. I was told that it would take them at least a year after making the decision to do that to get it implemented. They have not yet made that decision at least two weeks ago. The new single speed will have a throttle.

Already paid them, plus I am hopeful that customer service will be better with EBC. The local Aventon riders I have talked to are not all happy. Also, if I buy it, my sales tax will be about $150.00 somewhat narrowing the difference plus an additional $220 for a 3 year warranty, while EBC has...

By the way, have you seen the new display for the model A? I really like the real looking speedometer. But I think we lose all the fine controls for PAS levels that we have in the current display. I also have heard that sometime by the end of 2023, they may have a mid drive model option.

I agree. I am not quite sure if they will have torque only, and will be happy if it is both or just torque.

I have ordered 2 of the Model E with the new torque sensor. I included the 7 speed option as well. They will not be available until mid February. I may be one of the first to get this option. I prefer torque over cadence, each has its merits, so it is a preference choice. Any thoughts?

I am wondering if they will announce a new Current model with a throttle. I would bet that they would double their sales if they do that. Since they are out of stock on the Current now, one can hope.
