Moving front light to fit a handlebar bar bag?

Welvome aboard! This issue has been discussed in many posts, some with good solution photos. But not sure how you'd use the forum search function to find them. Some of the better solutions involved GoPro mounts.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

    Q. I've used 3-finger brake levers all my life. How am I going to feel about 1-finger MTB levers on my SL 1? I ask because my mechanic has proposed 2 all-Shimano brake upgrades — both affordable, both higher-performance than the stock Tektro brakes. (Details to follow.) Keeping my current...

    Thoughts on Beach Riding?

Excellent question! Short answer: Little if any here in San Diego County, but plenty of other sand components (especially quartz but also magnetite and hornblende) capable of scratching at least mild steel. Ability to scratch a hardened stainless brake rotor is the real question here. LBS said...

So you asked the question and never came back to see if anyone had put in the time and effort to help you?

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Don't tell my wife, but I've become a big fan of Dutch sprinter and European Road Champion Lorena Wiebes, who just grabbed her 100th win at Gent–Wevelgem 2026. She's a total animal on the bike but all sweetness and smiles and totally relaxed in front of the camera. Confident in her abilities...

    Thoughts on Beach Riding?

Ha, I knew you'd say that! I've seen enough of your beach ride videos to know that you've ridden a lot of wet sand, seemingly with abandon. Q1. How's that gone for your bikes? Q2. Do you have a dedicated beater for that purpose?

    Thoughts on Beach Riding?

Damp sand fine, wet sand beware! Reviving an old thread to share a cautionary tale. Short version: Don't ride on wet (water-saturated) sand. As noted above, I've ridden my commuter with 2.3" tires on firm damp low-tide sand many times, no problems. Just fun. All it took to protect the bike...

    Weird Specialized discovery....

Can't claim to be a serious rider of any kind, but I also like having one nice lightweight mid-drive with minimal accessories for fitness/road/gravel and a heavy old hub-drive costing ⅓ as much for utility/beach riding. Yes, I could put temporary panniers on the nice bike for shopping. But I...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Just watched the last 10 km or so. Was really hoping he'd pull it off. I know these guys have a feel for how much energy they'll lose to the wind going solo vs. how much they'll need to win, but there are so many unknownables — including how good a guy like Ganna's feeling that day. Van Aert's...

    Rohloff or not?

Sounds like a great adventure! Sorry, can't help with the Rohloff and belt question, but I do have a warning about the total lack of bike lanes on many segments of US 101 through the coastal forests of central and southern Oregon. We drove it 2-3 years ago. Saw many bikepackers and found my...

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Good review of Catalunya and preview of Tour of Flanders on 4/5 (FloBikes): Bob Roll says that Tour of Flanders weekend is to Belgium as Super Bowl weekend is to the US. Tadej, MVDP, WVA, Mads Pedersen, and some "Sagaerts" guy are all podium favorites.

Watching the peloton - Professional Road Racing thread 2026

Just rewatched the last 30 km of Catalunya 2026 S7 through @stompandgo's lens. What fun! At one point, with many of the big guns up front, the commentator said something like, "With all due respect, it's like watching a juniors race, attack after attack!" Between the fabulous scenery of the...

Excellent intel! Still affordable with those new levers. Will discuss all this with my mechanic today.

What about the flat-mount Shimano GRX BR-RX820 gravel brakes with ceramic pistons and extra pad clearance? Still very affordable if all I need are the calipers. https://bike.shimano.com/en-NZ/products/components/pdp.P-BR-RX820.html

Not a divorce-level brake upgrade, but certainly good for a week on the sofa. Thanks! Will definitely discuss that with my mechanic. I'm fine with the stock levers.

    Weird Specialized discovery....

Assuming that just means that you aren't riding pure road bikes anymore. In which case, I have an honest question: Q. What do you miss about road riding that your lightweight flat-bar Pinarello ebike can't deliver?
