    no wheels

Wow! No wonder you smoke so much Vado! 😁 Sorry. I don't mean to make light of all your pain, but I couldn't resist.

Marion Iowa Considers Speed Limits for E-Bikes

It's one of the reasons I like to ride semi rough trails. It keeps the spandexers at bay.

    Winter Sucks

I don't even want to walk the 100 yards out to the mailbox & back with conditions like this. +1F at noon with a wind chill of -18F. A 24+ MPH headwind would make for a rather uncomfortable ride.

My dream bike got stolen. Lessons, next?

I'm so sorry for your loss and can only imagine what it's like to have a bike stolen. I did meet someone who had a similar experience though, and I saw what he went through. He was a fellow rider I would frequently meet on a local bike trail. I met up with him one day last year and he was...

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

This is an excellent solution on a national level. Unfortunately, states like NJ do not have the power to ban imports and have to pass meaningless laws.

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

I agree. In theory, banning throttles should work. The problem is, these E-moto bikes are already illegal for road / trail use in most locations. The "kids" ride them anyway and will continue to do so, law or no law. The bike makers claim they are for off road use on private property and an anti...

    Vacation planning with E-Bikes

My wife and I take many fly / drive vacations. We've had quite a few trip disruptions over the years, mostly due to airline issues. We also found out the hard way that it pays to book everything in advance, especially hotels. Once spent a night in the rental car during a snowstorm when...

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

I've already written off the NJ trips I've planned for this season, while the "kids" will continue to ride illegally. Hotels, restaurants, etc, take the hit along with bike shops. Totally useless law.

    Vacation planning with E-Bikes

To me an Yes, but the logistics are half the fun for me. Gives me something to do over the winter months when I can't ride

    Show Us a Tool

Picked up a couple of these on sale last week: Among other uses, they work great for making quick bike adjustments without putting the bike on the work stand. With the bike supported by the kick stand, I just put this hand jack under the bottom bracket and lift the rear wheel off the...

Which bicycle companies have fast smart bike chargers?

This would require that you carry that $600 charger with you on the bike. To me, it would make more sense to buy a second battery which would give you enough range for a full day. I'm not sure where you usually stay on a ride, but 120V outlets are available in most overnight accommodations...

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I've come to the conclusion that it's the ability of the photographer, not so much the quality of the equipment that makes a good picture. The average individual often can't appreciate the fine detail that is so highly valued by professionals.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I only have one MIK bag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWBX38HW?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4 I bought it for it's size. With it's fold out panniers, it holds quite a bit more than the large Topeak bag. I don't see much difference in quality except the zippers aren't quite as...

    Winter Sucks

Yes, I mentioned this to you in a post a year or so ago. Different login id on the tractor forum though, so you may not have made the connection

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I also have a few Topeak bags that I had to adapt to the MIK system. Fairly easy to do with the MIK adapter above.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I don't usually take my expensive camera gear on a ride, but when I do, I use this hard shell protective camera case: https://nanuk.com/products/nanuk-920-pro-photo-kit Expensive, yes, but so is my camera gear. I use the MIK rack system on my bike, so I bolted this MIK adapter plate to the...

    Winter Sucks

My ride today was 1 1/4 miles on my private road. It was on the tractor though, plowing 13+ inches of snow. Much rather be doing it on the e-bike in mid spring.
