Mathieu Van Der Poel has just won his 8th Cyclocross world championship making him the most successful cyclocross rider in history. Beating Roger De Vlaeminck's long standing record of 7 wins from the late 1960s/early 70s. Extraordinary talent.

Yes to all this. Also going to be an interesting year seeing how the new boys, not so new boys and revamped teams do. They are all hungry; Tudor, Q36, NSN and Decathlon in particular. Astana since they became an Italian team in disguise have been suddenly dangerous, there's the new (and awkward)...

Bora/Redbull have not in the past been good at keeping all their highly strung jockeys happy, just look back at the Sam Bennett days. And as you say they now seem to have a number of chiefs maybe not enough Indians. Lipowitz especially has a right to be aggrieved, podium in Tour de France last...

Yes I love the Saudi desert scenery in this race, the Empty Quarter. Very Lawrence of Arabia.

That's the point of the Irish Tricolour flag; Green (Nationalists) Orange (Unionist) and White being peace between the two. Designed by Thomas Francis Meager, leader of Young Ireland, the revolutionary group in 1848 (Or apparently gifted to him by a group of French women from the 1848 Paris...

Ouch. Didn't see there was so much damage. Kangaroos in Oz and sandstorms in Saudi Arabia, dangerous occupational hazards abound in the early season. Re Kangaroos waiting in ambush, it might be territorial, or they are alarmed. I've never seen that. They are a big concern for driving, hitting...

The kangaroo had the last laugh. (Though his coach reported heavy bruising, he said Kangaroo 'Smasher" Doyle should be ok for more ambush duties on the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race on the 1st.)

Carrying photography gear on a ride

Alex bike tester (English fella living in Italy, reviews EMTBs) has been hot on data use recently. Here he discusses ebike motors and data:

Ahem....! Though in fairness the Irish national team jerseys are usually green and or white with some orange trim. Here's Ben Healy rocking the Nat Champs Jersey few years back. As a National champ, you get to wear your national champions jersey all year round. And I think, you can keep...

Two Month Review Of Cervelo Rouvida Rival Road Ebike

with the exception of the TQ40 - near total silence everyone reports - they all whine I think, but as an owner of an EP6, same 85nm as the EP8 its quite a low range tone and not a unpleasant noise, compared to the rather shrill high note from my Spesh SL 1.1 motor.

A new TQ40 bike has just popped, this time a lightweight Enduro EMTB; Orbea Rallon RS. Weight approx 39LBS just 3 pounds heavier then an average Enduro analogue MTB: Think that's the first TQ40 on a mountain bike. And interesting it's Orbea who use Shimano Bosch Mahle and now TQ.

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

This whole thread is making my head hurt. I haven't a notion what all the maths means here, haven't the brain for it, start seeing blurry! Don't stop yer workings, it's fascinating in a remote detached way. All I know is I can get up any 20% even 25% gradient on my 5 year old Vado SL with...

Also, remember for Aussies, this month is their one chance every year to preform for home crowds, get the local headlines and that must mean a lot to them, before packing up and heading to Europe for the next 9 months. Thinking about that - it's still bizarre to me that there isn't a single Pro...

It's just racing. In the Nationals he was the previous year's holder and desperately wanted the jersey again to wear all year, so he/Jaco gambled and got egg on their face. With the TDU not sure, but it's his home race, he's clearly feeling very fit and wants to win at home. It's a question of...
