As far as I can find out, it is not sold in Australia. I did email the distributor about it last year, but got no response. I guess that says it all really.

As I noted in my earlier reply, at least with the Edge 1000 and onwards, routing to POI, localities and addresses directly in the GPS unit is possible and I have done it at times. I have never used my phone. Maybe this is limited to the higher-end models in the range.

Not my bike but I think you are referring to the spare tube. I have seen this approach to carrying one on many mountain bikes.

I believe that the rider was/is using the handlebars for holding the bike for cleaning etc. I suspect that the does not use them for any serious maintenance work.
