I am not a fan of indoor trainers but an e-bike can be an effective training tool. For example Zone 2 training is quite possible on a e-bike and hence would be possible on a trainer.

I use a allen key t-handle spanner. However, I also add Shimano Anti-Seize to the threads (I am sure that there are alternatives that do the same job). Makes like so much easier down the track when I need to remove the pedals.

The weight appears to be around 36 kg, depending on the version. From a loaded touring perspective, at least for me, that would exceed my limit.

I deliberately installed mechanical disc brakes on my Salsa Mukluk because of the remote riding I do. It is much easier to do an emergency fix than with hydraulic disc brakes (I learnt that from experience.)

I have recently purchased a Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite DX tool to carry on the bike. I haven't had to make use of it as yet, so I cannot comment on its functionality.

I just checked the HoverAir website, and it blow me down; they have the X1 for AU389 and the combo for AU439.

From what I have found, there is not much around here. I found one second-hand on eBay for AU400, whereas the Neo is AU$300 new, and the cheapest price from a unknown retailer for the X1 is AU$535 and from a mainstream retailer, AU$639. Even Aliexpress pricing is up there with the street prices...

The Hover is nearly twice the price here ...
