I wonder how well the throttle works on Aventon’s latest “ACU”-equipped bikes. I know I’m moderately interested in the Aventure M model, which offers a throttle attachment if you want one. I’m not a big throttle user, but on a fat bike I want to have one for assistance when I need it.

If it’s an air shock, check the bottom of the fork to see if the adjustment screw came off and opened the air spring chamber. Could be an easy fix, although you’ll need a shock pump. If it’s a spring fork, that’s bad and should be fixable under warrantee???

Late to the party, JL, but having digested that you already have a more “modern” bike I wish you well. Your approach sounds reasonable. I was going to recommend upgrading to a 48V power system, but I get ya’. Good luck.

Was just reading up on this bike. It’s been out for a few months, and I wonder if anyone has gotten one and/or written any review(s) on EBR about it. Aventon has applied their (A100) mid-drive motor to a fat bike. I’m not sure if any other manufacturer is making a fat bike like this anymore...

Good call, Chris. What’s a “hydro brake,” then? My question for all of you, is there any advantage to cable-actuated brakes vs. hydraulic hoses? Are these best for retrofitted bikes? But, in order to mount these calipers don’t you already need bosses on the tubes to accept them? Just curious.

Yes, definitely best to get a factory spare if you can. But, yes, there are some companies that will rebuild your battery. Are you in the US?
