opimax, what's happened to you will, over time, happen to everyone (including me) who bought two WW bikes with the high performance controller. No help from Watt Wagons and no help from X1. We're on our own. Is replacing the High power Ultra motor with a stock UART motor an option?

As already mentioned, the most important thing when looking for a new vehicle that can carry a heavy ebike is if a class 3 trailer hitch can be installed. A 1 1/4" hitch will kinda work, but a 2" hitch is a much better solution.

Does the TQ motor peak at 300w?

If I had it to do over again I would have purchased my two WW bikes with stock powered motors. I seldom ever use more than 1000 watts when I ride. When one of my Ultra motors bites the dust I'll replace it with a stock version.

Many of the new ebike motors put out 85/90+ Nm of torque, which is more than enough to power you up a steeper climb, when using their higher power levels.

There is a guy in Germany (or some close) that works on Ultra motors with the X1 controller. I came across some posts from him on either this forum or the Endless Sphere forum. Unfortunately, that's a long way away.

I can't help you with a repair source, but I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, as I have two WW bikes with this high Watt motor.

My wife's biggest beef with her Photon is the display, which washes out on sunny days. She also doesn't like the stock grips, because the ends are solid so bar-end mirrors can't be mounted. I ended up switching her left sided grip for an Ergon grip. I haven't replaced the right side yet...

Overall, my wife is happy with her Photon, with one exception-she hates the display. The problem with the display is it washes out on sunny days. She hopes that one day Zen will offer another display choice.

I would think your best bet is to contact a Trek dealer.

95% of my rides are in level 1. I seldom need to use a higher level, since in level 1 the motor peaks out at around 400W.

No, I haven't contacted Ravi yet. I ran both batteries to 0% and then charged both. I put one of the batteries back on the bike and it showed 92%. So far I've done a couple of short rides and the percentage is looks to be dropping at a 1km = 1% rate.

I really like this bike, but like Stefan I'm not a fan of the Mahle X motor, I wonder about mixing titanium and carbon in the frame, and the price is way more than I'd be willing to spend.

Ojsakila, I'm jealous. Ride 1 Up confirmed, in an email, that the warranty voids when the border is crossed. Unfortunately, I have to cross the CF Racer1 off my list. :mad:

I'm still considering purchasing this bike, but a big negative I've come across while doing some sleuthing on the internet that Ride 1 Up's warranty does not cover bikes shipped to Canada. I've emailed Ride 1 Up to find out if this is correct. If it's true I won't be ordering one.

Personally, I'd go with a class 3 hitch mounted on your Subaru, if you plan on carrying at least one heavy ebike (and the rack isn't light either). I'm surprised a class 3 hitch is not available for the Camry, as I was able to purchase a class 3 hitch for my wife's Honda Fit, which is...
