Carrying photography gear on a ride

I've come to the conclusion that it's the ability of the photographer, not so much the quality of the equipment that makes a good picture. The average individual often can't appreciate the fine detail that is so highly valued by professionals.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I only have one MIK bag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DWBX38HW?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4 I bought it for it's size. With it's fold out panniers, it holds quite a bit more than the large Topeak bag. I don't see much difference in quality except the zippers aren't quite as...

    Winter Sucks

Yes, I mentioned this to you in a post a year or so ago. Different login id on the tractor forum though, so you may not have made the connection

I also have a few Topeak bags that I had to adapt to the MIK system. Fairly easy to do with the MIK adapter above.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I don't usually take my expensive camera gear on a ride, but when I do, I use this hard shell protective camera case: https://nanuk.com/products/nanuk-920-pro-photo-kit Expensive, yes, but so is my camera gear. I use the MIK rack system on my bike, so I bolted this MIK adapter plate to the...

    Winter Sucks

My ride today was 1 1/4 miles on my private road. It was on the tractor though, plowing 13+ inches of snow. Much rather be doing it on the e-bike in mid spring.

    Winter Sucks

I'm due east of you in PA and it's pretty much the same around here. We've had bigger storms with far less media hype than this one. I guess it's because of the size and the number of people affected that makes this one noteworthy. We've survived storms with twice the snowfall predicted for...

How to mount the repairable Infinite Battery on a Rad Powerbike

Despite the claim, that thin aluminum case is NOT fireproof. A burning lithium battery will melt it fairly quickly. At best, it might delay the fire spread.

Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

It's because they're so handy to have around. Add a few balloons and you can even use them for transportation after the e-bike craze goes bust. :)t

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

Just received this email from the dealer that sold me my bikes: New E-Bike Legislation My Company <[email protected]> 4:39 PM (3 hours ago) NJ's new e-bike law Greetings...

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

Could be the death knell of the e-bike movement if this type of legislation spreads to other states. The sad part is, the kids, who these laws are designed to protect, will just continue to ride them illegally.

Do these requirements apply to e-bikes on off road trails?

From Class 2 to Class 1. How "hard" is it to switch?

My Pedego has brake cutout levers but I was concerned about an electrical failure. A couple of years ago, as an experiment, I disconnected the brake switches and took a ride. I held the throttle wide open and the disc brakes easily stopped the bike and stalled the 500W hub motor from a speed of...

From Class 2 to Class 1. How "hard" is it to switch?

IMO, the difficulty in switching from class 2 to class 1 would depend on your age & physical condition as well as the characteristics of the class 1 PAS system. On many class 1 bikes, there is a delay when starting to pedal before the motor assist kicks in. I'm told it's a safety feature to...

    Can anyone identify this

I can't be sure, but it looks like a similar part on one of my bikes. It could be a protector / spacer that snaps on the shifter cable end and fits into a notch on the derailleur. It isn't really necessary on my bike anyway. The bike functions fine without it. It just protects the cable where it...

    Winter Sucks

Six of us went on a 14 day Alaska land / sea cruise last may. Travel agent advised it was safe since the flu season was over. All six of us came home with confirmed cases of Covid. Five, including myself, had been vaccinated and just had mild symptoms. the sixth member of our party wasn't...

    Winter Sucks

I happened to drive past the trailhead parking area of a local trail a few days ago and noticed it had been plowed. I was encouraged since the temp was in the mid 30's with a light wind so I went home and got the bike. I unload and was installing my gear when I noticed that only a hundred feet...
