    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

OUCH!!! One reason I inspect replacement bicycle seats closely so I don't get some cheap plastic saddle that could give way and impale my rectum. I hate the thought but I suspect that it may have happened so someone in the past if their seat fell off while running wild down a dirt trail and then...

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

Apparently no one here has watched the TV show "Combat Dealers". Good old Bruce Crompton. He has a strong attachment to his service and to those who went before him. I guess with most of us, whether we hated or loved the military service no matter what branch, we have a sense of honor. In honor...

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

Ooooooh! "Light bulb!" And he rides his bicycles sidesaddle, too? Just a few more pieces of the puzzle to go.....

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

Great to know so the next time that I am using my power auger while riding my bicycle, if I impose too much torque on the auger, the cross pin will snap before I go flying over the handlebars. Ha-Ha! P.S. I am now in the over 100 mile club as of yesterday, 10-9-25.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

Okay. Makes more sense. Didn't know the cranks were anything but steel. I think the pedal bolts are grade 8 just going by the black color? I watched a video of a guy talking about some common things we should know for cycling. Pedal up on the side of the turn which I fortunately was doing...

    Welcome to the 21st century!!!

I think the one guy who refers to everyone's ride as "Chinese Scrap Metal" is selling stolen bicycles. I don't know what he's riding but he tried to sell me a bike way out of my price range. I'll keep on keeping on with my first bike until I feel like a upgrade is to my liking. Wouldn't buy...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

That's an odd one. Usually the crank steel would be a higher grade steel than the pedal bolt. Kind of like the lug bolts on a car being something like a Grade 8 or 10 and the lug nuts a grade 5 +. But, it's a learning lesson. I will make sure I don't get too crazy with the wrench when tightening...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

That's the biggest Catnip plant I have ever seen. Kitty looks very happy.

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

That's my buddy, Wauky, but I call him Scrapper Doodle. My mother-in-laws dog but I was there when he was born, his mother was a Dachshund, so when I first held him he was so tiny and didn't have the long nose. He is very brave when he's in the company of the Labrador Retrievers but he's a big...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

I hit 70 miles today after five completed 14 mile (round trip) trips to the park in the past two weeks, plus today. I can only do two trips a week and rest a lot in between my riding. I decided to go ahead and charge the battery today since I just had one of three green LED's showing, along with...

Another "what bikes might be a good fit for me" post, but for a short woman

Yuppy doodle. I looked at most folding Ebikes available on the WWW and decided I'd just get a full sized non-folding Ebike. My two folding regular bikes probably weigh 30-35 lbs and the electrified folding bikes were more like 55-75lbs depending on the bike. I didn't want to have to start...

    Ebike helmet

I can understand his riding position plight. That's why I bought a "cruiser" so I can sit up straighter and I just rotated the handlebar stem/post 180 degrees so the handlebars are about 10cm closer to me which allows me to sit up even straighter. Most old farts need something that allows them...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

I had a Schwinn Varsity 10-speed in high school and one day on the way home I was hit point blank in the center of my left eye by a small beetle. It hurt for a very long time (months) even though I had no outward signs of injury. I had a friend with a motorcycle who caught a live bee inside his...

What have you learned from your e-bike experiences?

I hope this isn't lion country? He-He! I wonder if they make lion repellent for use in Africa or the SW USA? I read a story about a woman jogger/runner taken down by a Mountain Lion some years ago somewhere in SW USA. I say this because the neighbors dogs seem to think that I am their prey, when...

    Offset Saddle Adapter

Ya, I did notice a slight difference in the "geometry" or balance of the bike on my short test drive but can't recall if it was favorable or not. The next 14 mile ride is Friday, if I survive it, I'll report back. I got used to my 16" Dahon's fast steering response so even moving to a 20"...

    Ebike helmet

Okay. After many comments I'm going right out and buy the same helmet that the Indianapolis Colts (and many younger footballers) are using to prevent TBI. A mere $760.00 for protection of what we have upstairs, that we call the brain. Then again, I might activate/connect my genius brain pathways...

Can't Get My New Urtopia Bike to Work

Well, ya, that sounds like a bike in the more "advanced" class of bikes with the electronics you described. Sometimes they have videos on their website or YouTube to show you exactly how to navigate the intricate details since it's not just a "plug and play" cheaper bike. I would expect that...

    Offset Saddle Adapter

All righty. I just hit the 42 mile mark this week (on my new Ebike) and decided to try something I thought about when I assembled my bike the Sunday before last. I rotated the handlebar stem/post 180 degrees. Then put the handlebars back on. It moved the handlebars back about three or four...
