Beware Having REI Set Up Your Canyon - Potentially Dangerous Fail

No worries... It's getting harder for me to work on things as well. Carpal Tunnel, Arthritis and Trigger Finger are humbling me more every day. I just hear too many of these stories and at the end of the day none of this is rocket science. My DTC Zen bike came with so many assembly errors I...

Beware Having REI Set Up Your Canyon - Potentially Dangerous Fail

This is why people should know "how to" with most of what they buy. I've never opted to have anything assembled for me. Whether it a bicycle, BBQ grill to furniture... etc. But I'm old school where knowing how something works and how to use tools was considered an asset. ymmv

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

That's my go to for most everything, especially electrical. 80% gives you a nice headroom cushion and adds a lot of reliability. As far as tire pressure I always start in the middle of the min/max rating... and then feel it out. I typically end up very close to where I started.

Recommended low voltage discharge of a 60v Li-Ion battery

I'm not familiar with that bike... but if you can get an accurate voltage reading on the display that's the best way to monitor. It becomes second nature after a few rides to interpret.

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

I just Google and posted the first chart that popped up. But yeah... Fat tires are not on manufacturer radar much.... but the point was to show that granular means down to the mm

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

Well I guess that can be arbitrary... But the ones I've seen/used were down to the mm.

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

That only works if the controller has that granular of a tire size input. I don't think that's the situation here.

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

Who knows what logic your controller is using, if any... Sounds like a dart board Most of what I've seen you just enter the correct tire size

    Rear Wheel Removal Tip

On the more sophisticated bikes and/or bike computers you enter the circumference for the most accurate speed/odometer reading. You can get this from a tire chart or measure it out as it can vary with tire pressure. On the Bafangs I've owned the 26" and 650b(27.5") input matched the tire size...

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

That's a good question as it's not rocket science... but as it stands now it seems to be beyond what the bike industry can produce reliably.

New High Torque IGH announced by 3x3

Seems hydraulic shifting has too many flaws to be practical. A few years ago a third party came out with hydro shifting for Rohloff and it died quickly. Cables are just reliable... >9000mi and it just works. And what ever the set up, once acclimated you just do it second nature without thinking...

Installed a Rohloff Speedhub 14, IGH on my mid-drive Luna Z1 Ultra Mag

Contemplated that myself... Just to lazy to be a beta tester these days. That and I have >5000mi on my current KMC e8 chain and still not at 0.5

Recommended low voltage discharge of a 60v Li-Ion battery

What bike / motor /battery do you have? I have a Bafang M620 w/860C display My display % is off as well... But the display can be set to show voltage which is very accurate. Here's some info... https://www.batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-808b-what-causes-li-ion-to-die/...
