    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

True. I use rubber straps to keep the syringes upright and prevent air incursion. Agreed on the Carbotec or whatever Magura calls their composite levers and clamps. Way too brittle.

There's an exception to every rule. That doesn't make the rule "misinformation". I can't stand that overused and often incorrect term.

I'm not a fan of using drop bar shifters on bullhorn bars. I'd rather see cross levers on the tops for the brakes, and bar end shifters. But if that what the customer wants, so be it.

    Charge Smartphone vis display

It's used all the time for auxiliary lighting and the like. Bosch allows the diagnostic tool to limit current on the lighting output to safe levels.

Brake Wear Question -- Is it possible...

No, it's not normal unless you ride 100% of the time in wet, sloppy off-road conditions and don't wash your bike. Diagnosis is a multi step process.

That's true for any app in dark mode. It's a gross oversimplification to assume that every phone user knows this, and knows how to take advantage of it. GPS tracking in normal mode eats battery, OLED display or otherwise, and a dedicated cycling computer offloads it.

Phone navigation eats battery. A dedicated GPS computer, preloaded with courses or not, offloads it.

Same here. Too bad your speed sensor doesn't have a screw boss. Nothing wrong with zip ties, though. On both of my production bikes, the speed sensor is mounted at the end of the NDS chainstay, and the magnet is part of the centerlock locknut.

    Brake bleeding without bleeding ports

The cup method is a one way bleed. It's the recommended way to bleed Shimano brakes, and works fine most of the time. However, some brakes are tricky, and the manufacturer recommends a two syringe bleed. This is a two way bleed. The advantage is that by having a syringe on the lever, the fluid...

Beware Having REI Set Up Your Canyon - Potentially Dangerous Fail

I didn't miss anything. I've never worked with this kind of split seatpost, so I didn't comment on that claim. I can see, though, that if this kind of seatpost was inserted TOO FAR into the seat tube, the suspension could be bound or defeated, causing a catastrophic failure (i.e. rip your nuts...

I'm surprised that you didn't run a zip tie through that chainstay boss, instead of wrapping the chainstay with two zip ties.

Beware Having REI Set Up Your Canyon - Potentially Dangerous Fail

You take a custom builder like PedalUma. He takes new or good condition used bikes and converts them to e-bikes. If he builds a bike for you, and your bike has a frame failure, is he going to send you to Felt or whoever made the frame for warranty? No way. He's going to stand behind it, because...

The Future of eBikes: How Fast is Too Fast?

We currently work on these bikes, but I'm slowly convincing the boss that it's not a good idea to do it. The liability exposure is simply too high. Some stupid kid maims himself for life after we work on it. Mom's not going after a Chinese company, she's going after the shop.

Yes, Loosen, adjust, snug, then torque. Carbon paste should be used anywhere metal touches carbon, although I don't use it on stem expander plugs. The easiest place to check is the seatpost. Mark the height on the seatpost with tape or a marker. Loosen it and lift it up an inch. There should be...
