    E-Bike Suggestion

This is the post @EmileSmith34 copied. They just want to sell their dirtbike.

Again, more spam. Why would you copy and paste a post from years ago just to advertise your dirt bikes? Reported

    ASI Controller upgrade for Stromer?

Why would copy Ravi’s post and insert your own ad? Really strange. You (or your AI bot) should make your own sales ad in the proper section. Which might be some other website since you are advertising electric motorcycles.

    I need help!!!

Right. No PAS. Brake cut offs work the same as bikes. They both use a NO switch. OP shows a 48v controller. You can tell because there is no mention of 36v, or its cutoff voltage. “Dual Mode” means sensor and senseless. If a hall sensor burns out, you can still use the controller.

DIY build my own E-bike battery - tips?

But could the cells handle charging at 8A? And what is the charge port rated at? Common 5.5*2.1 ports have a 5A max charge rating. YOLO 🙃

DIY build my own E-bike battery - tips?

If a cell shorts out, it starts to get hot. This may impact the surrounding cells. If the surrounding cells also get hot. Then thermal runaway could begin. Me personally, I’d never build a battery. It doesn’t make financial sense. If I did, then I’d follow this build.

I looked at the ad again and it states the deal is available at “select locations”.

Can you find the gear reduction ratio of a geared hub motor without opening it up?

Most geared hub motors have a 5:1 gear ratio. You can count the magnet poles by rotating the wheel SLOWLY backwards. You can do this with the bike off. You will feel “cogging”. Each time you feel cogging, that is one magnet. Then just half that number and you have your “magnet pole pairs”...

    Controller on stunner

Here is a link, with a video, that shows how to replace the controller. The company is telling you a special tool is needed and that a “qualified trained professional” is recommended to cover their behinds. The special tool is a Phillips screwdriver. Heed the caution to turn on the bike AFTER...

Lugging a Motor, Why it's Bad

You don’t even need Vado to enjoy it. :) Here is a Dubai Chocolate strawberry cup. Our area is known for strawberries, so these are as good as they get.

Lugging a Motor, Why it's Bad

Some places call that Dubai Chocolate. The crunch comes from little fried bits of philo dough. I was in Las Vegas and they had a donut shop around there that had this. It was the most exquisite donut I’ve ever had. Yes, exquisite.

31.8mm stem diameter on Yamaha? Want an adjustable riser

Glad you were able to make the swap. Changing over to a new handlebar was a bit like reformatting my computer. You can get a fresh, clean, start! I had a similar issue with the front brake cable being too short. I had to replace it with a longer one. I have hydraulic brakes so I didn’t have to...

A handlebar riser does make for a more comfortable ride-for me

I used a similar stem riser. Also changed the handlebars. I forget the math, but I gained about 3 inches.

    Battery charging “rule of thumb”?

The common 5.5MM x 2.1MM plugs are rated for 5A max. No matter if the cells can handle higher charging current. The plug can not safely handle higher current. One "rule of thumb" that I know about battery charging is, never leave your charging battery unattended. Specifically, don't charge while...

Nailed It! New Tires for Gazelle

Yes, to your second question. I use Tannus Armor. I like them. They do make the ride more cushy. Be sure to get smaller tubes, as recommended on their site. I commute on unkept road and I’ve only got one flat. It was a 2” cotter pin. I think it would’ve punctured any tire, to be honest. About...
