Think tolerance for e-bikes is common? think again!

One guy whining on the internet. Dismissed.

when will prices come down out of the stratosphere?

I have $400-$500 in mine. Now it does depend on what you want.........you'll spend more if you want a hard core trail bike or need to go extreme miles but for that money mine does exactly what I want. A cheap run around bike. Your buddy could have built an electric bike for close to what he...

Nordic countries getting a charge out of eBikes

I find it disappointing that so many see the solution as enacting taxes as opposed to subsidies. This goes for those who want to, or at least say they want to address the issue.

Is a Tesla E-Bike on the horizon?

I'm sure I would love to have one but would never cough up the money they would want.

Recharging during the day on tour

A spare battery will add a good bit of weight to your trip. If as you say, you are used to long trips anyway, it shouldn't be a problem if you run a little short? Rest stops are pretty well marked on maps. That is another option. Your idea is a good one. A website that people can log into to...

Less Than Ideal Temperatures for Optimal Battery Performance

Very typical for batteries. They work best in warm weather. I haven't rode enough to make a determination but I begin to notice a difference in my car once it gets into the 60's and below.

    E bike legality question.

I need a throttle because that is what I want. How's that?

    E bike legality question.

I'm just glad I live somewhere that we do not have a rule and regulation for every conceivable action one could take. That doesn't address your question. I think the bike you bought is pretty cool and it would be sad that you had to return it because someone decided it was "too powerful". As...

    Tune-up and regular maintenance

I learned how to do it with screwdrivers. I learned how to shorten a chain with a screwdriver and hammer also.

    Making an utility cart.

My step son bought a house across town. I drug my old lawn mower over for him pulling it behind my bike.........I got thinking about a utility cart. I've had this old Caboose in the shed for years.........I bought it when my daughter was little. She is now 17. Anyway.........thought maybe if I...

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

You will have to look it up but I could ride from Clarksburg WV to at least Nelsonville Ohio on decent trails or lanes.

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

We as riders can accept the risk and some would even be willing to accept it themselves. The issue is those who have this crazy desire to control everything and get elected to do so, can not. "That guy is going too fast, there must be a law".

Should my folding e-bike creak constantly at the joint?

My folding bike creaks. I built mine so it wasn't a purpose built bike but I realized the bike was a compromise. I can easily take it with me but it's never going to be a trail bike.

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

We have some really nice bike lanes that unfortunately no one uses. I never see bikes on them.

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

If I had a bike that did 40mph I could then ride to work. The vast majority of the way would be on a 4 lane road with a dedicated bike lane. There would be idiots that felt the need to zip in and out of traffic ignoring all safety rules that would likely quickly ruin that.

Carbo Folding bike thoughts on indigogo

I built one from a folding bike and all I can really add is that if you want a folding bike, that is a good looking one. Far sleeker than mine.
