2025 Crater Lake Ride the Rim

Unfortunately fire smoke/air quality is an issue again this year. Webcam from Diamond Lake just north of Crater Lake. Webcams at Crater Lake are being upgraded and not currently online.

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

Right, there is a distinction between well thought out changes to make a bike more to the liking of the owner vs creating some sort of chimera. Drops to flats on the right frame (like the skitch and pinarello) seem more the former than the latter, depending on individual preferences.

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

Sorry, I wasn't referring to your post but to another poster who seems to think that flat bar and drop bar bikes must have different geometries otherwise the manufacturer is just cheap and trying to save money by slapping different type bars on the same frame - to which Pinarello and Santa Cruz...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

A quick look at geometry specs between the flat bar nitro E5 allroad and drop bar E9 gravel seem to indicate that the frames/geometries are the same for both flat and drop bars. I think the OP was just asking for how to convert rather than a discussion of pros and cons of conversion based on...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

This thread made me curious if same model flat bar bikes have a different geometry than drops and looked up the skitch. Same frame/geometry for both flat and drops. I've seen that for other brand bikes also so even premium manufacturers don't seem to think that flat bar instead of drop on same...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

It looks like you would have plenty of room but Qiroll lists measurement requirements. I'm curious why you are thinking of a Qiroll rather than a light weight front hub motor like BF installs OEM. Switch might make a compatible kit or you could buy individual components

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I wasn't planning to disassemble the battery so I didn't pull the pack out of the aluminum can mostly because of the expandable foam mess. Really I only removed the top cap because it was slightly loose and came off easily with a careful wiggling. It seems like it should be easy enough even...

In case anyone is interested I noticed the top of my H70 battery was very slightly loose so it was easy to gently wiggle it off of the aluminum can. Here's what it looks like. It wasn't as I expected, instead of glue all around the cap it looks like a strip of regular electrical tape with a...

    Bike shipping, within USA

I was expecting to pay but they were eager to give me a box and let me choose from the several they had on hand. I did give them $ for their their coffee jar but they made it clear that wasn't necessary. Probably more demand for boxes at your shop.

    Bike shipping, within USA

FWIW, for the couple bikes I've shipped with bikeflights I just picked up bike boxes from a LBS who seemed pleased to get rid of them. I cut down the boxes to match the disassembled bike sizes limiting shipping costs which are based on container dimensions and weight. At the time pricing...

FWIW I found a third party seller with a product description that indicated B70 battery compatible, no regen braking.

As always thank you for sharing your knowledge which has been very helpful to me and I'm sure many others based on the 145,000, and counting, views of this QIroll thread. I'm still planning on riding the Mickelson trail this year, maybe next week if the weather forecast holds. Thunderstorm...

REVIEW: QR-E 250W ELECTRIC BOOSTER BICYCLE MOTOR AND B60i AND B70 BATTERY

I don't have any need to disassemble a QIroll battery but if I did I'd try using a cheap feeler gauge (smallest of the blades stiff enough to insert between the cap and can) along with careful use of a heat gun (or hair dryer). I'd try to not twist the cap avoiding breaking wires/connections.

You only have to use two (+ & -) of the three terminals when using a standard non-proprietary battery. The third terminal isn't required. I think blueberry first posted this information also. I've run my Mute version with both 48v and 36v batteries and a buck converter that can drop voltage...

I think Blueberry posted about having opened up a Qiroll battery, you might send him a message about details if he doesn't respond to this thread. I suspect that the plastic cap may be glued onto the aluminum tube which may have to be destroyed in order to open it up. Keep us posted. On...

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

Nothing that I'm sure you haven't already seen. Looks like they're meant only to supply bike manufacturers rather than to the public. The M11 looks interesting, how would you incorporate it without being able to build a frame specifically for it ?

Anyone tried a lightweight ebike conversion kit on the Scott Addict?

FWIW the US distributor did quickly answer a few Q I had. From what I could gather from their message the torque sensing function seems to be virtual by combining input from the PAS functions along with a built in inclinometer as there was no mention of a strain gauge type torque sensor. IMO...
