    Yeah, that’s a good point, actually. Even if it’s not working perfectly now, having a backup charger around, especially if someone can fix it up properly, could come in handy down the line. Better than tossing it right away.

    Yes, the Hall sensor wires (usually 5-pin: R, B, Y, G, Bl) go straight to the controller, no circuit board inside the motor, just sensors near the stator. If you're seeing 0–5V changes while slowly turning the wheel, the sensors are likely working.

    I'm just outside Chicago. I've done parts of the lakefront trail, and it's definitely worth checking out. The views are great, especially near the museum campus. It can get crowded on weekends so a weekday ride might be better.

    G Two ebike questions

    I’m also having trouble with a similar G Two model and didn’t even think to check that. In my case, the display does turn on, but there’s no assist and the throttle doesn’t respond either. I’ll try disconnecting the brake sensors and test walk mode next. Appreciate the tips from everyone here.

    Yes, I agree with that, I had the same experience when I toured in Paris through https://gowithguide.com/France/Paris and cycled there, those small backstreets are fine, but the main roads can feel like a battle. That said, France as a whole has some fantastic cycling routes.
