I worry about restricting ebikes that have a top assisted level of 28 mph. It makes sense to restrict bike speed on many paths, say 15 mph. If they do this, then they don't need to restrict ebikes that have a top assisted level of 28 mph.

I you can ride the bike year around were you live, they go for it. I would recommend getting a trailer for calling groceries. Some much younger riders look confused when I pass them pulling a trailer behind my Trek XM700+.

I have a Trek XM700+. I did a 50 mile ride using a 400 watt battery. I was in the ECO mode (lowest level) for 90%+ of the ride. The loaded bike weighs just under 50 pounds and I added 210 pounds. I still had an "estimated" 10 miles left on the battery.

After watching the "development" of the Copenhagen Wheel for several years where they took orders but didn't fill them, it is good to see an alternative. This is a lot less expensive than buying a new e-bike. I don't know how they could possibly have 100 mile range.

You will love whichever way you decide! If you want to go longer distances I would assume a throttle would drain your battery fairly quickly. If you plan to just do short trips around town, this would not be an issue and the throttle would help at intersections. I have a Trek xm700+ (no...
