Does anyone suffer from battery range anxiety like people do with electric vehicles?

129 miles. That's pretty impressive. 62 was my longest on a warmish summer day. I was planning a 92 mile ride but massive flooding in the area put the kibosh on those plans for this year. Upright is easier on the butt I find, but one of my best "upgrades" was this cheapskate special on...

Does anyone suffer from battery range anxiety like people do with electric vehicles?

Sure. It's not just range itself, but range dictating how you allocate power when you ride. For that reason, I purchased extender batteries for both my bikes so I wouldn't have to think about it...much.

Great sale going on now at Evelo

I think you'll find the Omega very comfortable, quick and smooth to ride. The 2.8" tires offer plenty of cushion and stability. I only wish the bike was a bit lighter than it is, but I accept the trade-off for the power and range.

Great sale going on now at Evelo

There's a lot of discussion on the Evelo Facebook forums about how to effectively use the Enviolo Automatiq transmission. There is an available Enviolo app for fine tuning the cadence, but I never bothered fiddling with the factory default setting and likely never will. The auto factory setting...

    EVELO Galaxy Lux Impressions

I don't know if it's strange, but pedaling a belt drive torque sensor bike is a real pleasure. More to the point, if throttle riding is your primary thing, you can buy a perfectly comfortable and speedy bike for a lot less money. I have the Omega, but would just as well lose the throttle. I'd...

Great sale going on now at Evelo

Great bike that's a steal at this price. I've had mine for about 6 months and would have to pick a lot of nits to find faults. As a bonus, Evelo customer service has been outstanding.

Increase speed limit on Priority Current?

It is positively in the settings menu. My bike is at a friends house right now (she also has a Current, and both are set as Class 3) so I can't remember exactly where it is at the moment(under parameters possibly). Even if you never pedal over 20 mph, the range of assist is higher so I do...

    The E-Classic Plus

Thanks for thorough analysis! It’s a little hard to visualize the frame fitting without climbing aboard but perhaps the responsive support staff at Priority could suggest some handlebar adjustments.

E-Bike Newbies Are So Uninformed... (A Case Study)

I know "T"s have their place. Those with knee issues or general mobility limitations require them. Commuters in hot or inclement weather as you mention benefit at times. Some cadence e-bikes benefit from throttles for safe n' smooth starts. I'm an active guy and I ride mainly for recreational...

E-Bike Newbies Are So Uninformed... (A Case Study)

I'm surprised he did not mention throttle as a must-have. I do agree with Harry though. I went through a learning curve with these things, burning money along the way. My biggest "what-the-hell-was-I-thinking" experience was a fat folder. I know those are a good fit for some, but I wasn't...

This E-Bike With Built-In ChatGPT Is the Epitome of Overblown AI Hype

Steampunk. Great word. I had to google it. In the final analysis, the flashy tech on the Urtopia is largely irrelevant to riding. Too bad, because the lightweight frame is very appealing.

This E-Bike With Built-In ChatGPT Is the Epitome of Overblown AI Hype

My friend asked me what I thought of the Urtopia a few days ago. She had a Cannondale carbon bike (non-electric) which was light as a feather. We both have Priority Current's. We're both fans of the Current, but she seems to miss the lightweight Cannondale for casual neighborhood riding. I...

Help finding a mid-drive, torque ebike with a throttle and natural pedal assist?

I love my Priority Current and Evelo Omega, and agree with you on all points except the throttle. I never missed it on the Current with its natural and smooth acceleration. The Omega has a mild cadence sensor pedal delay or "jolt" which can probably be mitigated with the throttle, but it has...

    Cycling Shorts?

I removed the padding from my bicycle shorts some time ago. It felt too much like a diaper. I do like the slight elasticity on my favorite shorts, which makes mounting and dismounting a tad easier.

    The E-Classic Plus

I was suggesting various e-bikes to my adult nephew who I would describe as e bike-curious, but still resistant. The new E Classic Plus looks like a potentially promising transition bike on paper, but there are no actual reviews I could find thus far. (Judging by the YT comment section, some...

Choosing an E-Bike Class 1 versus Class 3?

I don't know if there's any real enforcement in NY state. We saw a rider on a noisy gas scooter fly past us last year on a bike path near Ft. Edward, and again this past Spring on the Warren County bikeway. I'm pretty sure it was the same guy. Rules, shmuuls when you're entitled. I hope the...

    E-bike Newbie

I gave up on phone mounts after trying a bunch of them. If I'm on my bike, it can wait.

    E-bike Newbie

Funny. After investing in expensive battery extenders for two bikes, I'm now left high n'not-so-dry. I'm in soggy Vermont, thinking it serves me right for buying all this pricey extended ride equipment. Here's hoping the omen "Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your...

    E-bike Newbie

I do not think there is anything endemically problematic with the Enviolo Automatiq. I have it on my Evelo Omega and it works like a charm. Evelo uses it on two or three other models without meaningful complaints judging by Evelo's message boards. It arguably works too well though. I...
